"So you did this, huh?" the professor speaks in the softest voice, facing Mark with unreadable eyes. His lips stay in a straight tight line. His anger is seen. Slowly burning while it engulfs everything its path. The professor wasn't known for his experiments nor for his help in saving lives. He was known for how he was when angered. Usually, it takes a few sentences. A few insults to his family. A few insults to his little miracles. Or one glance at a situation that he would never believe happen behind his own back. He took a shaky breath and glares at Mark coldly. "You're sickening to even talk to right now," he manages to say, thankful that he didn't stutter.
Seeing how the man didn't even care anymore causes the professor to turn on his heel and walk away, each step breaking his heart even more. By the time he had closed the door, he felt his whole heart shatter altogether. Seeing how much time he had put in that relationship, only be to be broken again, causes the professor to finally realize that love wasn't mean for him. He was going to take a cigarette out but decides against it once he sees one of his little miracles run up to him. She started asking questions, most of which he was happy to answer. But when she started to ask about him, he forces himself to smile and kneels down to pat her head gently before speaking in the nicest tone he could muster up.
"He's not here anymore. He...He's too busy for us, sweetie."
