“A debt for the inn. It is still here. For the Redfangs who were there. Headscratcher. Shorthilt. They would go. So I am going.” Badarrow looked around. There were not Goblin words for the specific meaning of ‘debt’. Not like this. “How many times will you pay it?” Redscar. He didn’t scoff, but the Goblins were curious. Badarrow just gave him a pointy grin. “You never finish, until you die.”

Goblin Flirting
Snapjaw to Badarrow: "We should mate. Should I begin to court you? Do you like grubs or ants better?”
Badarrow, a little hesitant: “Later?”
Snapjaw: “I will be over here then. In case you change your mind about mating soon."
The first wave of the Solstice Goblins broke through Reiss’ army. They charged ahead, aiming at the Goblin Lord. A screaming horde. They’d never win. They couldn’t win. But no one had told them that. Headscratcher, Badarrow, Rabbiteater, Numbtongue, and Shorthilt ran ahead of the rest. They aimed at the Goblin Lord, five brothers. And they were laughing. Laughing with the others, fit to burst. And then fighting. Falling.
Laughing.

More to Life than Death
After the Siege of Liscor Rabbiteater: "One day we’ll be united in death." Badarrow: "Superstition." Rabbiteater: "It's a nice thought." Badarrow: "It's a great comfort to fools. There's more to life than death."

Ready?
Right before the Redfang’s going out to back up Erin Headscratcher, confident: "You ready to do this?" Badarrow, Rabbiteater, Shorthilt and Numbtongue: "Yes." Headscratcher, emotional: "If you cry, I cry, so keep it together."
It’s a terrible thing, living when so many others have died. It’s terrible because no matter what you do, a single thought keeps popping up in your head: I’m glad it wasn’t me.
