The other day I mentioned a few ways that people misuse the description meta tag, and I just ran across something worse than usual:
Title: James’ Fancy Website
Description: James’ Fancy Website’s meta description tag
(name changed to protect the guilty)
Remember folks: the description tag is there to let other people know what your site is about. Your site is obviously not about the description tag itself.
I wonder how many $millions I'd have to buy advertising for before staff listened to my complaints about the shitty accessibility on this site?
Oh great, I can't scroll down on my dash on the mobile browser version either now? @staff, what have you done with the code now?? Thank goodness I can still access the desktop version - ironically, that's often that version that works best on mobile since it's less reduced and more flexible (and lets you zoom in!). The floating javascript navigation banners are a scourge upon the net in any browser version of course, but with desktop at least you can ZOOM OUT so thay they don't take up 1/3 of the screen. I'm sorry, I just have really strong feelings about suddenly not being able to access my favorite social media anymore due to bad coding choices and lack of backwards compatibility for those of us who can't afford to buy new hardware every 5 years or so.
