The unexpected company in David’s own version of Paradise had been nothing short of a surprise, but not a bad one. It had given him more of an opportunity - though brief - to see how the bio-weapon worked upon humans. The only previous experience he’d seen with that was with Shaw, but he hadn’t intended for that to happen. He wanted her to be safe from all this, at least for a while, until she stopped being useful to him. He couldn’t help but love her in his own way; she’d been the first human to be kind to him and treat him somewhat like another human, even knowing what he was. But now, she was remembered in the creature born of her flesh. The sleek, but ferocious creature that David had grown rather fond of over the years.

Now, after all was said and done, all the hard copies of his research were gone, along with his favourite pet and all that he’d held dear, but what he’d gained in return was something far more precious than all of it: an opportunity to create his own world. A pure world.

It had taken some convincing, but David had managed to bring the now subdued Walter aboard the Covenant, claiming that he was the rogue David 8 unit that needed to be sent back to Weyland Industries for reprogramming, lest the secrets of the company (and Earth) remain out in the universe for anyone to find.
