please help my partner and i share the gofundme we made to help the kitten we found a few weeks ago. this has been a colossal undertaking we were completely unprepared for. i am beyond devastated and a shell of myself over this right now. anything is so deeply appreciated.
A few weeks ago, I found a kitten outside my house and decided to try and keep her because s… Natalie Pascuzzi needs your support for Bacon
Have you guys met the boys???
Here, look at my boys
Meet Bagel (left in both pictures) and Bacon Bit (right in both pictures)
They were Having Fun when I bought them so. They’re gay! I have gay beetles
They’re also just really sweet! These are Blue Death Feigning Beetles. They’re called that because they play dead
They’re also just really sweet and goofy
I call it cinna spam with a sprinkle of bacon
It's hard to believe we're here!
It started with looking up early pregnancy symptoms....and wondering, wondering, wondering. Then googling all pregnancy symptoms and wondering if the nausea, bloating and extreme fatigue would ever go away. From worrying about baby and feeling anxious before doctors appointments to becoming a regular that I knew the nurses, front desk and lab techs. And being mesmerized by the sight of our baby at each ultrasound. And becoming familiar with the lub bub of his/her heart beat. Obsessing over nursery decor, especially furniture. And a few "I have to buy it TODAY or I will change my mind 1,000 more time!" And then how to fill the drawers and shelves? Probably only rearranged everything 4+ times tee hee. The baby shower was a big discussion. When? Where? Whose coming? What will we play? Eat? Etc. But before I knew it the shower was here! My thorough obsession over our registry was helpful for baby shower guests. And it would continue right to baby's due date trying to purchase the last few items. Learning all that we could via classes, books and playing/observing our niece and nephew. At times I was frantic, pumping the breaks for more time! Feeling like there was so much to do but before I knew it time has gone and most of the items are done! And the nesting kicked into high gear these last few weeks. An intense feeling of "I need this all done or baby can't come!" And as that list dwindled and my doctor said those words "I think we need to induce you" it has brought us to this week...the week we will meet our little one! It's funny how each of these things seemed like such gigantic hurdles at the time....perhaps even mountains! Like I would never not feel or sick or we would never have all the right baby items we needed. But here we are, a couple days before we go in and you know what, we are ready! Somehow these 9 months have dragged and flew by but we are ready to meet our little one!!! So when it seems like baby will never stop crying...and I'll never sleep again...I need to remind myself that somehow, someway, we will get there! Just like I achieved the pregnancy hurdles, we will achieve the newborn hurdles too! And at least this go around I'll have a cute, squishy little baby to look at and love on!

Lovely and productive Friday!
I got so much done today AND had a relaxing day - simply the best! First I called and found out we can see the pediatrician I want. Just have to call the day we are discharged and they'll make an appointment. Also got our day care secured to start mid April. We filled up their infant room for the remainder of the year so I'm really glad I signed up now! I also found out that work has approved me working 4 longer days and then having an extra day off each week! So I'll be home with baby on the weekends and Monday's and then Paul will take two days off during the week (hopefully Thurs/Fri). Trying to see if he can work 4 longer shifts, at least every other week) so we could have at least one day off together. Happy with our daycare choice especially since we can do part time! And thrilled that only 2 days a week our baby will be in someone else's care and the majority of their time will be with one of us. Hopefully it works out well. Additionally I took care of some insurance paperwork. And met my sister at BuyBuyBaby to finish buying the last few items we needed/wanted. Feels good to have that done! My sister and I also went and got a pedicure. Followed by seeing "Joy" which we enjoyed. And capped it off with dinner. Lovely day indeed! Hoping to clean the house and prep baby's room a bit more tomorrow before seeing some girlfriends for dinner-yay!
Nesting
I guess nesting has kicked in full swing and thankfully I have a fair amount of energy to do it all! Paul got his wisdom teeth out and despite recovering from that he helped me out this weekend with a lot. Here's some of what we've done: 🔸Put away all Christmas decorations. 🔸Reorganized my kitchen cabinets including my spice cabinet and place for baby bottles. 🔸Sorted our liquor cabinet and got rid of some booze. 🔸Washed every possible piece of laundry: towels, sheets, blankets, baby clothes and all of our dirty laundry. 🔸Cleaned out and reorganized our garage. Sorted through a cabinet in our living room that was full of junk and put new movies in our DVD case. 🔸Washed all remaining dishes and cleaned up our living room daily before bed. 🔸Put up our baby's mobile and moved the swing into the living room (eeeek-it's real!) A few more things still in my list including cleaning my car and then installing the car seat. I also got some more of my to-do list tasks taken care of that aren't cleaning related, so that's awesome! Nesting is beautiful!!! Hoping baby at least waits until next Tuesday so I can do more this long weekend.
2015 Review
2015 was a good year for us and not just because of Bacon Bit!
Traveling was great! Rang in the new year in Tahoe. Took a long trip to Germany, London and Paris with my sister and brother. Boston with college friends. Omaha with family. New Orleans for a work conference and a little bit of fun. And had several visitors to AZ to make the year extra fun!
Work had some improvements this year for me. I got a promotion to supervisor. We won awards and I presented on them at our national conference. And topped if off winning a flat screen tv at our holiday party!
As always we enjoyed time with friends. Cuddles with our pups and Chester. I joined Junior League and have had fun getting to give back and meet new women. We lived through a long kitchen remodel and afterwards have shared great times with our friends and family in the beautifully remodeled kitchen!
There were some struggles this year of course. Including Paul being blindsided and laid off after returning from our European vacation. But he worked really hard and has found a new job that he’s enjoying in the meantime while focusing on long term goals. My gestational diabetes diagnosis was hard to swallow and meant a lot of changes, namely working through my fear of needles. But with a lot of support from my family, namely my husband and mother, I've been doing pretty well diet wise and while the needles still hurt I grew in mental strength in what is one of the first of many sacrifices I will make to better my child. Our family had some struggles and hard times this year as well this year so for them we welcome 2016 to bring us all a better year!
And of course a 2015 review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning BABIES! This was the year of babies for our family! Paul’s sister welcomed her first daughter, Ella, on May 20…the same day I discovered I was pregnant! And then my brother’s first born son, Jack, joined the world September 19. Not only was it amazing being and Aunt and Uncle (on both sides) for the first time but being pregnant at the same time/right after my sister-in-laws has brought us so much closer. Being able to text or call them and ask “Is this normal? Did you experience this?” has been wonderful! And I know it will continue as our children grow and make milestones near each other. It’s been fun watching both of our siblings become parents and the rest of our family turn to mush around these cute little humans! What a joyous year.
And then there’s Bacon Bit!!! Obviously the highlight of our year. From finding out and sharing the news with Paul to feeling this little one roll around in my stomach, it’s been a true blessing!!! I somehow feel like I’ve been pregnant all year but also it has gone by in the blink of an eye. We have showered baby with love, prepped with books and classes, decorated our nursery and so much more in anticipation of his/her arrival. I’m finally feeling “ready” for that day! And so is everyone else!!!
Thank you 2015 for the blessings and memories! 2016 I know you’ll be one for the record book as well!
