House Warming Backyard Movie Night
This past weekend we had friends over for our official house warming party! In the form of a backyard movie night. We thought an outdoor activity would be best because it would have been a bit cramped trying to fit everyone in the house. And it was a great reason to use our big backyard, one of the reasons we bought this house in the first place.
Tristan sewed the screen himself out of stretchy bathing suit liner material that he bought at Jo-Ann Fabric. We watched “Guardians of the Galaxy”, which we played on a laptop and projected with Tristan’s Ben-Q projector. We rented a popcorn machine, which was a big hit, as demonstrated by our friend Natasha. I highly recommend renting one of these, it was only $70 for the day plus a deposit, and it makes your party awesome immediately. Also Thor, our friends Jordan and Martha’s chi-weenie, loved scavenging for dropped popcorn. He was like a little backyard Roomba.
Before the night was over, Tristan couldn’t help himself from doing an impromptu presentation about all our plans for the house.
It was also Tristan and Jordan’s birthdays, so I made a little box cake, which they promptly fed to each other. Fun was had by all!
