Lucien had asked Eris about pet peeves and promptly explained what that meant.
"Oh you know -"
"Am I known for being redundant brother?"
"Something like consistently, without fail, interrupting people just to be an ass can be a pet peeve,” Lucien snarked pointedly.
Eris simply rolled his eyes “Aha, so a charming little quirk then.״
"No, you prick, more the an obnoxious habit that can create resentment in a close relationship.”
"Oh.”
“So.. ?” Lucien urged.
Eris just hummed dismissively, “ I'm not the sort of man to resent someone close to me for being themselves, the person I’ve chosen to let near.”
Lucien looked ponderously up at the intricate ceilings molding. “Not a bad take, but there has to be something.”
“I’m nearly lightheaded from your approval so I'm extra sorry when I say that's too petty an outlook for me to give thought.”
“Oh come on, you don’t feel like ripping your hair out when Helion spit-laughs? Or when Tamlin last second cancels hunts and lunches?” He harps.
“To be so chalant is beneath me, brother.” Eris shrugged.
“You are anything but chalant-“
“Oh, you don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Right, because people who are always defensive and prepared to be sprung into danger are resigned to observe and bend to fate’s convoluted wills..”
“I definitely dislike your tendency to dig,” Eris supposed with a confirming cocking to his head.
"Okay. That unfortunately does count” Lucien groaned like Eris was picking a scab off his taint.
“What is this about?”
“Oh it’s nothing”
“Oh fuck no, after all that I want to know precisely why you’re curious”
“Elain asked me what mine were and I kinda.. well, I told her I’d get back to her.” He folded surprisingly quickly, must be desperate for disclosure.
“…”
“Spit it out.”
“I mean that’s just not a very.. complimentary action”
Lucien’s raised brow did his questioning for him.
“I don’t know that I’d want Az to spend an exorbitant amount of time mulling over all my character faults.”
“Yeah, he would be mulling for awhile and I know how attached you’ve become.”
“Oh fuck right off and back to tell your girlfriend unconditionally, you absolute prick.”
