Regris felt as panic built up within his chest. Adam wasn't moving or responding. Shiro and Ulaz can't get him to respond or move. Regris’ tail kept flicking as he watched Shiro gently tap Adam's arm, telling him to wake up in a quiet tone. Ulaz was close by, pushing Adam's longish hair out of his face. Their efforts seemed futile to him, Adam was still unresponsive.
Regris only sighed in relief when Adam finally opened his remaining eye. Regris couldn't help himself, he immediately pushed Shiro out of the way so he was the one in Adam's line of sight. “You're alive.” Regris felt the panic disappear and be replaced with relief. Adam only stared at him for a moment before reaching for him and pulling him close.
Regris immediately melted into Adam's touch, wrapping his arms around the older man. Adam only pressed a kiss to the top of his head. “Come ‘ere baby.” Regris followed Adam's pulling, joining him on the couch. Regris closed his eyes as he cuddled into Adam. “Oh my baby, you're so dramatic.” Adam's voice was gentle, full of love. Regris only buried his face into Adam's neck as Adam turned to lay on his side.
“You weren't responding.” It was all he could say. He didn't trust Shiro and Ulaz enough to truly speak his feelings. Regris only trusted Adam, Adam was safe. Adam hummed at the words as his fingers traced patterns on his back. “I was asleep baby, how could I respond?” Regris simply held Adam a bit tighter. Adam let out a small huff.
They fell into silence after that. Regris could hear as Shiro and Ulaz left them alone. Adam continued the tracing, the action was soothing. Regris melted into Adam's touch, loosening his hold on the older man. Adam would place kisses on the top of Regris’ head periodically. The act of affection made Regris feel like a small child again. But he couldn't help himself, Adam was safe.
“My baby.” Adam broke the silence. His voice soft, Regris only hummed at the words. “Go to sleep, I know you're tired.” Regris gave a weak nod. His eyes closed as he tried to move closer to Adam.
