Aaaaaalright dudes
With a lot more of self confidence (and adeguate instruments) I'm back, and I surely hope to have fun with you guys, just... Shoot a random question in my inbox
(A cute random gif for ya)
Blindsided
We're talking and he just blurts it out. So fast that it took me a minute to replay it in my head and break it all down. The unit he's been assigned to is deploying....soon.
I just spent the last two hours exercising every fiber of my being to keep me from crying. Instead, I asked questions. We came up with plans about when to tell everybody, how to handle finances, and a few other things.
He's known for almost a week, and has been trying to figure out how/when to tell me. He even reached out to our friend in the Navy to ask him how he broke the news to his wife.
Plans have changed...drastically. I wasn't expecting this at all. Not now. He wasn't supposed to be reassigned to a unit until March. Now he'll be gone by March. And to top it off, even with the new changes to Army deployments (nine months instead of twelve), Babe's new commanding officer is pushing for a twelve month deployment.
I know it goes more with the Marine Corps' motto but I like it when Meesh says, "Semper Gumby." I'm going to adopt that as one of my life philosophies, and just jump in head and heart first and get through this.
