Cranberry picking is all the rage, at Port la Tour, principally among the female class. The law prohibiting the picking of cranberries until the 25th of September, has been very well observed. On Monday [September 26] the law was off and people availed themselves of the opportunity to get all they could. While every barren was literally teeming with men, women and children, none were so conspicuous in that way as the cranberry bog at Baccaro. Long before the sun had made its appearance in the eastern sky, pickers were on the ground ready for work.
