Hi this is a BeetleLyds fanfic I’ve been working on for a while and I figured since the first bit matches the theme I would show a preview of it to go with @babes-week Day 4 Nightmares.  I gotta give a shout out to @smol-lydia because she has been the most awesome beta and has become a dear friend as well! Love ya girl.  We’re almost at the end so the fic should be out soon but for now here is a sneak peak. Enjoy everyone.  ~~~ She knew she would dream about what had happened.

Despite being strange and unusual, she wasn’t stupid. She was well aware that visions would haunt her after what had gone down. It had been a little over a year, but she still thought about it all the time.

She couldn’t escape the nightmares but she didn’t let her family know how much sleep she was losing. 

Her family could see it though. They could see the dark circles that slowly over time became permanent residents under her eyes. They could see the extra cans of caffeinated drinks in their recycling bins. They saw it all and desperately wanted to help. They offered all kinds of solutions. If she wanted to see someone, if she wanted to talk about it, if it was maybe best if they moved again but she always said no.

The only thing was the dreams, so if that was all that she had to deal with after the adventure they all had then she convinced herself that she would be alright. She would deal with the hallucinations by herself.

They would pass.

She was convinced she could do it. That was until the dreams began to change. They used to just be about mainly Junno and the endless abyss, but they took a turn lately. They weren’t just dreams anymore. They had gotten darker. 

She hadn’t prepared herself to deal with full blown night terrors.

Movie vers.

BJ would use his magic to control her dreams, only when the nightmares got extra bad.

Lydia would get all kinds of nightmares but, she most often would be about her parents fighting.

Lydia would have no shame in sobbing into his chest as tried to comfort her.

Beej would try his hardest to calm her down, though sometimes he wouldn’t know what to do.

Comfort sex.

Beetlejuice would secretly get upset when Lydia would have nightmares.

Musical Vers.

At first, Beetlejuice didn’t know what was happening or how to make her feel better.

Lydia is very embarrassed about them at first, not wanting to show that they upset her.

On nights where she can’t sleep they usually watch old horror movies together till Lydia falls back asleep.

Lyd’s nightmares stem from her daddy issues.

Beetlejuice is a bomb cuddler.

Beej is pretty good at getting her back to sleep.

Cartoon Vers.

Lydia didn’t get many nightmares but when she did they were bad.

Again I feel like his powers would come in handy here.

Cartoon Beetlejuice would be a great cuddler

It hurt BJ not to be able to do anything.

He’s mastered what to do because of how long he’s been around her.

He can calm her down in seconds.

The thing that calms her down the most is holding her and brushing his hands through her hair and whispering sweet things into her ear.
