B.A.B.E Workshop at the Arnolfini
The biennial Bristol Artist Book Event took place at the Arnolfini on the 1st and 2nd of April last week, and my goodness what a weekend! Book artists came from far and wide to display and sell their hand crafted books, prints and other paper ephemera.Β We held a jam packed workshop on Sunday morning, printing with fresh flowers using a pasta press, and then folding and binding the prints into concertina fold books to take away.
Participants had just two hours to print and bind, as well as create a narrative within their finished books using alphabet stamps we supplied. It was great to see how a simple 2D print could be turned into an object using simple tools and kitchen gadgets.Β
