You know, I almost admire this.

These people look at this very simple, very stupid show that has made a clear choice in ships for nigh on five years, and against overwhelming evidence including the characters themselves actually physically saying they do not fit together, and despite absolutely zero evidence in 5 seasons that this show can sustain ANY slow burn, STILL be convinced enough to be yelling at known Bughead blogs with their whole chest that this is some kind of long-con.

So the dipp has come out with a new article today with clues on to why Betty will be pregnant by the end of this season. Which is insane. Let’s have a women who hasn’t even begun to deal with her issues have a baby. I guess. If she is pregnant. That’s a big if. Why do they assume it would be Archie. She was sleeping with Glen as well. My god they are quick to forget things.

Also they talk about the light shining through Archie’s bedroom as a sign that Betty is going to help him. I call it a street light lol but whatever… Betty has her own issues to deal with and honestly she doesn’t have time to worry about him and not to mention they share no screen time.

Second of all, they are and they always have been. Nobody watching the Riverdale in front of our eyes could possibly say this show is capable of a slow burn, much less that they are playing the long game on Barchie.

And wow, the Dipp is just a rag mag with a paywall. How shocking. Indeed, Betty was also sleeping with Glen, and to want someone in as bad of a place as Betty to have a baby, much less have it and be stuck with someone she doesn't love is just WILD. But most Barchie fans aren't Betty fans. It's just a fact. It's in every theory, they want Barchie but they don't like Betty. If they did they'd recognize that being with Archie would cut away a fundamental part of her - the investigative side that she thrives on. Archie has no interest in that and nothing to do with that.

Also super fun that they think Betty is going to help Archie with his issues when he has proven time and time again that he doesn't give a single shit about her issues. Do we recall "oof that sucks" and not even so much as asking what was wrong when she called him over panicking in the middle of the night?
