Her last talk to the universe
Do you remember the scene in ,,Deconstruction of Falling Stars", in wich some humans discuss about the events of Babylon 5 at like 80 years after they happend and suddenly a age-old Delenn and her entorage of Minbari priests shows up and says, that Sheridan was a good man? I really can't belive that she underwent all this diffeculties and her last appearance before public just showed a defend her long dead husband. I think she also hold a wise speech about how important the Interstellar Aliance and its values still are, how the peoples of the Galaxis should still try to understand and trust each other and how the universe consists of all of them. This speech got famous and oft-quoted and became a interstellar plea for peace and international understanding. Her defend of Sheridan was in consideration of that not often remembered from her famous spech. She also talked about Lennier - and how she would'nt have managed all the changes she brought to the galaxis whitout him - Susan, her fellow amassadors and all the others, but the be fair, this part of her spech also almost sank into obscurity. And the man who watched the clips at ,,Deconstruction of Falling Stars" just only watched this one part of her spech, because he is so enthusiastic about ther romance.
I really hate that Delenn-the-virgin-theory. Its bad enough that they wasted such a fascinating character for standing at the side of the boring Gary Stue clichee hero and doing nothing, why the hell have they to fabricate something like that to reduce her to the classic love interest of the male hero? In my headcanon she had mabye two or three mates before Sheridan. And we just never saw anything about them, because showing Delenn banging some pretty Minbari would totally destroy her saint-like appearance. But I never though she was virgin, she just seemed far to confident about that topic to be it. And I also think its kind of derogative to not permit the female main character some active sexual live before she meets the love of her live (also known as the series hero).
She mabye brooke up with her first boyfriend because he could'nt deal with the way she fought in the war against earth and had mercy with the humans. He was also the companion of some of her pecadillo of youth: They stand at the holographic observation deck of the ship and everyone else was asleep, and Delenn was overwhelmed with desire so they just coupled at the bottom of some holographic ion storm*.
She parted from the second because they just grow apart, and from the third because he was jealous on her, but the relationships with all three of them lasted for years.
*That idea is from some Delenn/Dukhat fanfiction, and I really can imagine that she done somthing like that at some time. But I don't think her and Dukhat were more than a teacher and his student, great friends and companions.
I cant help but imagine that Narns smell like a mixture of hot rocks and that typical reptile house scent.
A much wiser race (?)
Even if there were not that many women of there species seen (besides Delenn, Shaal Mayan and that warrior first officer), the Minbari seemed to be have overcome sexismn since centuries and it seemed to matter more in which caste you are then which sex you have.
And I have the headcanon that they are also really liberal in dealing with homosexuallity. So liberal, that they even would'nt say ,,I’m hetero" or ,,I’m homosexual" or ,,I’m bi" or whatever but just ,,I’m in love with that person and its a woman/man". They would say: If I love him/her, what matters what sex he/she has or if I’m a man and he to / if I’m a woman and she also. Some clans even belive that its holy and even more precious than hetero love because its not something the evolution created to make reproduction more effective but just love.
They are also very liberal about trans people and (as shown in the wonderfull fanfiction ,,The Mantle of the New", frow where I have this idea) have some ceremony in which trans people of there species came in in unisex clothing and get handed over clothing for there real sex.
Its much more important for them if your mate is in the same caste as you are or not. And so liberate they are about non-binary sexuallity, so xenophobic are they. Its a absolute tabu to mate someone from another species, similar to the treating of homosexuallty at the 1960 years on earth, indifferent wether she/he has the same sex or not. Because for them it pollutes there species. They only allowed Delenn to mary Sheridan because she was allready half human, and they still not wanted that first as you can see at the series.
I thought about that because I relised that I have headcanons for a lot same-sex-couples with Minbari. I ship Rastenn and Tannier, the young rangers from ,,Learning Curve", and also Dulann and David Martell from ,,Lengends of the Rangers", whoes relationship is problematic, but just because they are from different species, and there are also Nur and Barenn, olderly lesbians and both Satai of the worker caste as Delenn restored the Grey Concil - damn, they are such a cute couple and they remind me (at he fanfiction ,,The Candle and the Star") at my aunt and her wife. For some reason I also have the headcanon that Neroon is gay, especially because he has nothing similar with the usual clichee gay. And I still wonder wether Lennier is hetero or bisexuall (because you can’t know that from the single time we saw him in love at the series) or wether Delenn is the only person he can ever love - poor, poor boy.

After Delenn dies, she passes beyond the rim. The scene we see between Sheridan and her in “The Deconstruction of Falling Stars,” where they’re in bed wondering if anyone will remember them, is actually them beyond the rim living together as energy beings forever.
Also, G’Kar and Londo not only die together but end up together in some way after they die, because that relationship is the most fascinating, moving, and tragic antagonistic friendship/slash I have ever seen, no matter if they ever kiss or not.
The B5 Babblefish
I know its been awhile, but I've been mulling over this one and decided to post it during my B5 rewatch.
So, why does everyone in B5 speak English?
The Headcanon:
They actually don't.
In the future, everyone has some form of translator embedded or otherwise on their person. English is simply the default for the viewers, as it is obviously our language and that's what the B5 command is hearing.
All the aliens could not possibly be expected to learn English just to interact, some of them don't even have the anatomy for it.
BUT there is an exception for diplomats. A diplomat is required, by law, to speak all of the languages required for diplomacy. This is because the translators, much like today's language translation software (think Google translate) are often prone to hilarious, and occasionally disastrous, mistranslations. The last thing you want is "We will use military force only as a last resort." to be translated to, "Bring it on!" (which may have been a contributor to the Dilgar war ~_^).
So while most people rely on the language translators to get around on B5, G'kar, Londo, Delenn etc. do actually speak English (and Narn, and Centauri, and Minbari) in order to avoid diplomatic incidents.
Space, Time, and the Incurable Revisionist
Writing this out sort of solidified ideas that have been floating around in my head for the last few weeks; I'm reasonably happy with what I've landed on, though I'm sure it could stand some tweaking to make it better.
Basically, this isn't so much a full head canon as it is trying to find something better than what's given. In "Space, Time, and the Incurable Romantic," JMS tells us what happened with Marcus: 300 years after he died and was put in cryo, he's revived and ultimately ends up cloning Ivanova and faking a crash so they can live out their lives together on this remote planet. And that's... problematic. Like, a lot. So here's what I'm thinking. The story says that it was a recent exploration to the Rim that found the ruins of the alien civilization that made the device. Well, since Stephen and G'Kar went exploring beyond the rim around the time of the Alliance's tenth anniversary (and returned by 2278), couldn't they have found that alien world themselves? Between the time they returned and the final dinner with Sheridan, I'm sure Stephen was going through everything they found on the planet, along with everything else he found while traveling with G'Kar. But, seeing Susan at the dinner, how she's still mourning Marcus, he then redoubled his efforts to sort out the alien device. It still would take another year or two to get it all sorted, but he did and was able to revive Marcus. That way, Marcus and Susan are both alive, at the the same time, and can get on with exploring their feelings for each other. Susan would probably be distant because of the age difference, and Marcus wouldn't care about that, and they'd eventually come to an understanding. Best of all, no one has to lie to the other about what happened to them, or what the year is, or anything like that; it'd just be normal relationship lies from there on out. I don't know if I've fully made it my head canon yet or not, but I certainly like it a lot better than what we're told happens.
