Also this isn’t anything deep but I just want to give some perspective. People saying they’re shocked eric didnt follow them bc like he plays college hockey and they’re shocked he didn’t fanboy. My ex played d1 hockey, was on a team with one of Luke’s closest childhood friends and was very obviously a hockey fan, but like him and his teammates were not fanboys and tbh probably wouldn’t fan boy over someone unless it’s like Gretzky. Especially not a player semi close in age. A lot of people at the college level grew up with people currently playing in the nhl and are friends/friendly with nhlers so like they’re not gonna “fan boy” or really be fazed by seeing them. Like for example my ex played for not one of the more notable d1 teams but he’s buddies with Matthew Knies, Macklin Celebrini, Brendan Brisson, and Alex Turcotte. He’s hung out with them in the summers between college seasons and even tho he never went to the nhl himself he doesnf rlly see the people in the nhl like I would or someone who’s a fan would. Like a lot of these boys have known each other or known of each other since they were kids, or have mutual friends so they just see each other as people.
