Nobody seems to be watching; I'll just do it my way. This is a 'countup'!" With another quick look around, he rapidly counted, "12345678910!" and lit the skyrocket fuses!

Booklet Description: Picture 7. "Wal-al bust my britches!" Huck said as he looked off into the distance, "if this isn't the most fantastical mistake." He had landed on the roof of a drive-in hamburger stand, the New Moon! "Oh well," Huck sighed, "moonburgers probably wouldn't have tasted right anyway. Say, space travel sure makes you hungry. I wonder if one of them carhops could hop this high…" he waved at an astounded girl below, "One hamburger, please."

Booklet Description: Picture 4. "Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!" all twelve rockets fired and Huckleberry Hound's spaceship zoomed upwards. The town's clock tower loomed dead ahead. Huck fought the controls trying to miss it but his ship struck it a glancing blow. "I must have thrown a lot of clockwatchers out of work. Oh well, we all have to make sacrifices for science." Huck consulted his navigation chart then announced, "Look out moon, I reckon I'll be up there in time for dinner."

Booklet Description: Picture 1. "I'm plumb fed up with them Russian fellas shouting about getting to the moon first," said Huckleberry Hound when he had finished reading the paper one day. "I guess it's up to ol' Huck Hound to do something about the situation." Huck puzzled over drawings and plans all morning then went out and bought materials. He assembled the "Huck Special" in his backyard using only two scientific instruments—hammer and saw. "Now for my rocket fuel," he said heading downtown. At the fireworks store he ordered a dozen giant skyrockets. "Skyrockets in March?" asked the clerk. "Well, I aim to steal a march of them Russians," Huck explained to the dazed clerk. "If I wait until the Fourth of July, I'll have to go through Russian customs to land on the moon."

Booklet Description: Picture 6. The rocket ship fell through black space with a whistling sound and hit something with a spine-jarring crash. Huck's space helmet popped off and he looked out on a strange, green landscape. There were craters everywhere! "How about that!" he exclaimed. "It's the moon! I made it! And not a Russian in sight. Now to take out my lil ol' American flag, sew a couple of stars on it—maybe I better add one for the Moon state, too—and I'll e-rect it in a historical sort of way." A sound reached his ears. "What a weird sound to hear way up here—almost like an auto horn.
