My original plans for QUOTE OF THE WEEK 13/5/24 had to change twice. I had actually used Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson for QUOTE OF THE WEEK 13/5/24 and it was nearly finished but then a message from my son telling me that was going to see Taylor Swift in Paris knocked it off the top spot. The plan was then to use it for QUOTE OF THE WEEK 27/5/24 - SPRING BANK HOLIDAY but the general election was called.

I read 0pen Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson a couple of weeks ago. I had had a feeling that there was a print copy somewhere and spent a long time looking. I couldn’t find it so bought it for £4.99 on Kindle instead.

This morning of course I find it in my pile of ‘to be read’. This is a useful pile but only if I remember its existence.

(I think this is the only time this has happened).
