Azul would loathe the idea because Jade and Floyd would literally do everything in their power to make the Float a living hell. They are wickedly excited for it. Cater wants to do it so bad ever since learning it’s a tradition in their hometown. Especially because they literally have two moray mermen who would do it for them. Usually Floyd could not give less of a fuck but for a chance to torture Azul, he’s in. Cater begs Azul to do it. He cries his eyes out when Azul says no and then Azul has to give in
Jade, on the other hand, would be ecstatic. He is head over heels for the prospect of “protecting” Cater from Floyd trying to tip their boat over. Brotherly competition ensues. Floyd is determined to flip them over. Jade is determined to fight him off while providing a relatively “peaceful” ride for Cater. The whole endeavor brings the trio closer together as a family, strengthening Cater’s relationship with his soon-to-be-brother-in-law and giving Floyd a newfound respect for his brother-in-law as he realizes how chaotic and fun Cater can truly be. Jade is very happy that Cater is so interested in his culture and even happier that his brother really decided to show up for him when it counted the most
