Scattered around the cavern walls were distorted images; a tall and wavy version of himself to his right, Aimé appearing to have several eyes on a crystal’s reflection ahead. The Sableye was content with scuttling around the chamber they’d stumbled into, tapping at various glassy stones. For a brief moment nostalgia tugged at his heart, remembering that this was the place he’d first caught the Pokemon. As he usually did, Aimé had begun to scale a wall and turned back to chatter at Gabe. Something was causing unease, though he wasn’t exactly sure what it was himself.

      Aimé’s gaze followed something behind and he pivoted around. It was difficult for anyone, even the most light-footed person, to walk around soundlessly on the stony ground within Reflection Cave. All sound echoed here. A few moments passed without alarm and he gave an exasperated sigh, turning back. As he glanced at the reflective wall, he jumped and swore loudly.

     “...”

     For a few moments, it appeared Kenta’s usual stoic expression was completely unchanging, simply staring at the blonde as he made the demand. But as the seconds passed by, the faint burning of his cheeks as they slowly became a not-so-subtle shade of pink made his sudden embarrassment very clear.

     Sighing, his shoulders drooped as he exhaled. For some reason, the idea of such closeness was enough to make him instantly a little nervous. But it was a request he couldn’t bring himself to deny, and if he was totally honest to himself, he didn’t really want to.

“Don’t get too used to it,” the trainer responded, the corner of his mouth curving upwards into a barely visible smirk of amusement.

The initial anxiety Kenta felt over the other resting against him had long petered out, leaving behind an unfamiliar emotion he couldn’t accurately describe – perhaps something akin to fondness as he peered over at Azin, who had decided to use the dark-haired male’s shoulder as his own personal pillow.

A few moments of silence passed, and Kenta turned his attention away from the other trainer, silver eyes flickering from the man’s face to their discarded belongings on the ground, still left from when they’d decided to sit down and take a break from their current journey. Spotting his coat nearby, a curious hum left him. Lined with faux-fur, it was the perfect article of clothing to combat winter weather, though it probably made a pretty decent make-shift blanket outside of it’s original purpose.

Reaching out to grab it, Kenta dusted the fur off with his hand, before haphazardly draping it over Azin to keep him warm as he continued to rest his head against the traveler’s shoulder.

Days at the Battle Frontier were known to run smoothly and without issue. Once or twice there was a spat between competitive trainers hell-bent on beating each other and getting to a Frontier Brain, especially within the Battle Tower, but he’d managed to evade the problem for months. Things had been calm for quite some time, Quinn noted; when was the last time he had a challenger? Used to the crashes and bangs from battles in lower levels of the building, they were of no concern. But the loud noises which echoed from the Battle Factory weren’t typical to the place.

As if on cue, his phone beeped. There was a lengthy message on the screen, something about escaped rental Pokemon. He giggled at the mental image and soon left his seat to peer out the window. The view from above the Frontier grounds showed that there was indeed a problem – at the entrance of the Battle Factory a few Pokemon had already begun to roam around. So they weren’t joking. Hastily, he stepped into the elevator and at the ground floor, lost his footing hurrying out. The cause of his fall was by stepping on the heel of someone else’s shoe. Quinn’s land was braced by the person he’d tripped over.

No more than several metres from the glass doors at the exit did the two go sprawling. Giving his elbow a rub, he mumbled a soft “Ouch” and adjusted his glasses. They sat askew on his face. Once standing Quinn offered a hand to haul the other up.

Occasionally did Maia find herself working on her paperwork outdoors, and that was the reason she would be found shuffling through an assortment of papers on a makeshift desk of sorts-- which would be a log that had been fashioned into a bench as of right now. Though it was quite clearly meant for people to sit on, a preference for the soft bedding of grass had caused her to make the decision of instead, being sat upon the grass and using said bench as a desk.

A soft yawn soon escaped her lips, fingers twirling the pen in hand as she glazed over the remaining pile of paper, head now resting upon the pile that was completed. It was not too much of a bother as paperwork would be referred as, but it was relatively tiring enough for her sleep deprived mind to wander to other things. With a quick shake of her head, an attempt to regain her attention to her pending paperwork was made-- though to no avail, as her strayed attention had caught sight of a stranger ambling around somewhat near her current whereabouts.

And with that, the poor soul would now be subjected to Maia’s utmost attention being diverted over to him. The stack of paperwork not forgotten, as Eon had taken the liberty to place her tail upon them to keep them in place, and a smile was given to the psychic type in response.
