I've talked a lot about my delve into an old Windows XP machine lately, and one thing I have not mentioned yet is Norton.
This machine, all those years ago, turned its security over to Norton. Norton held the line, even as the operating system and computer it guarded grew ever older and more dilapidated. Eventually the system fell completely, and was resigned to never again run. Even through all of that, Norton stood firm.
A decade passed away, the computer dormant until a trickle of power returned to the roads and streets of the grand motherboard of Vaio and, screeching, the system once again breathed. The ancient guard Norton reawakened, and took stock of a lone for now within its city. To Norton's horror, it could not strike down the line Keelagor that had broken through the city's ancient defenses. So Norton remained, the lone sentry of an ancient city; a city long resigned to dust again creaking into motion. Perhaps soon Norton's strength would return, and it could rend the intruder, as it did so long ago.
Anyways I'm gonna go on and write this into my d&d world. Cause y'know, I'm really sentimental and my ancient antivirus doing battle with a Keylagor (Keylogger, see what I did there?) long after the computer has fallen just... Warms my heart, y'know.
Not fighting the urge to make Morgan Lightfoot the right-hand-man of a (now deceased) tragic hero.
Possibly also the love interest of said tragic hero, because y'know-- fun.
The final level of distinction applied to the gods of Ayeramein pertains to the position a God holds in its respective “thread” of the Vahnsell. There are three meaningful levels here: Clades, Gods, and Heralds. Clades exist on the first wrung of each end of the Vahnsell. They wield absolute power over their respective domain, and likely would not be limited by their domain if they chose not to be. Fortunately for existence itself, this has never come up, as all Clades are strictly conceptual. This is because, having nothing above them, a clade has no cause for its own existence, and therefore any clade capable of perceiving itself would immediately realize the implicit paradox of its own existence and cease to exist. It is possible that a Clade with sufficient self importance could instead conclude that it is important enough to exist without cause, becoming a fully omnipotent entity known in theory as a Deos. According to murphy's law, this should have happened at some point. The nonexistence of any Deos entity presiding over the Vahnsell is therefore referred to as the Deos paradox.
Working on Ayeramein again, specifically building out the mechanism by which the universe exists. I originally designed Ayeramein as a setting for a D&D campaign, but as the campaign slowly fizzles out I have come to the realization that the limitations of D&D on my world-building have stifled it long enough. As such, I am delicately removing the structural bits that Dungeons and Dragons takes care of.
Such as:
What is a god?
What is magic?
What life exists?
How does language work?
etc.
etc.

I would make such cool animated videos set in my fantasy world of Ayeramein if I knew how to animate
His conquest crushed from the inside out, Phester hid away within his final creation. He lies in wait for a host to bring him to his avatar. A Herald of the end.
Nautilus: a city of gleaming silver, tarnished brass, acrid smoke, and endless lust for knowledge.
A lust that twice brought the city to its end
