Sesi buat Nugget Soda Bread bersama. 💕 . . Buat soda bread ni sebab pagi2 Aydeen ajak baca salah satu buku resipi kat bilik masa bangun pagi. Lepas tu sepanjang mandi insist suruh "cook egg". Masalahnya dia tak makan telur camtu je. Pastu dah la orang semua puasaaaa sape pulak nak makan egg tu 😂 . . Dia punya level insist tu sejenis never take no for an answer. Maka kami pun buat la soda bread ni bersama2 nak bagi dia happy. Dari awal sampai habis cook dia suruh "cook egg". Egg pulak ingredient paling last sekali. #throwback 1 year ago, just a few months before our toddler totally drinks his Full Cream Milk direct from carton / cup. . . Weaning ANYTHING is never easy. It takes a lot of determination. Mothers heart need to be strong, there will always be some resistance at first. . . But toddlers are like that. They will refuse at first, but keep on trying until they're used to it. In this case, we wean off both bottles and formula milk at about the same time. . . It started when our son showed interest in a cold milk from cup that his cousin had during our Raya visit last year. And then it hit me: he likes drinking cold milk from a cup! And then we tried to slowly wean him off the formula milk & bottle. It works! . . And at the same time we always bring the 200ml carton milk for travels (we use 1L carton at home). At first we gave him a cold 200ml carton milk, but after a while, we gave the 200ml carton milk at room temperature, so that travels will be a lot easier. And it also works! . . When we were playing with my son's favourite Cars figurine + play mat yesterday, I remembered the tips that our paediatrician gave to us. . . "Children will have changing interests from time to time. It's best to observe his current interest, and stimulate learnings from there". . . At the moment, his interest is on the Cars book & figurine + play mat that our paediatrician gave him as a gift during our last visit. . . He felt so in love with it, he asked us to read the book about 5 times a day 😂 By now he has already memorise 4 characters in the books and able to choose the right figurine by the name. . . But I guess the thing he loved most about it is the play mat. It was a racing track of 4 different countries: USA, UK, Italy & Japan. It has flags above the tracks, as well as famous buildings & attractions. . . And by now he's already able to say the correct name for each of the four flags, as well as the name of the famous attractions in the play mat. Then I remembered that we happen to have a World Atlas book for kids that I bought for him last month, which has all the flags of each countries by continent. . . I asked him to search for USA, UK, Italy & Japan flags in the World Atlas book. And I was amazed that he manage to choose correctly at first guess for each of them! He is making progress 😍 . . After deciding to slow down on my side jobs a few months back & focus on my toddler's development, I can see that he's progressing well. And catching up fast in terms of speaking. . . One of the things that I taught him was basic action words. One of it is by sitting down face-to-face and drink together, and said "I'm thirsty, let's drink". "oh you're drinking milk". "look, I'm drinking milk too." "we're drinking together". "the dinosaur looks thirsty, let's give him something to drink". "The dinosaur drinks"! . . Hmmm...
