So weāve been on the road in this new lifestyle for 6 weeks so far and I cant believe we only just thought of this a year ago! Granted Iām a firm believer in fate, and I KNOW we werent in the right mind set to have taken this on a moment soonerā¦but Iām still a little resentful of all the wasted time leading up to this awesomeness ;p yeah yeahā¦I knowā¦it was leading UP to thisā¦hence necessaryā¦pffft! Lol! But for realsy, I couldnāt be happier. Everything feels all new again! (Grantedā¦most of my āthingsā around here now ARE in fact newā¦but you know what I mean). I feel like I did the moment I moved out from under my motherās roofā¦the first time (merp!). Like I could take on the world!
I attribute a huge part of this to the actual act of downsizing. If youāre considering itā¦DO IT! GET RID OF THE SHIT! We have a 10x10 storage unit with my piano, art, family heirlooms etc. And what we didnt bring on the RV, we GOT RID OF! Craigslist, friends, hell we even held a āyard-freeā (yardsales give me too much anxiety lol) for our neighborhood!
You have NO idea how much SHIT you actually have. Iām serious. I donāt even know you, but Iām willing to bet money this is the case!
I suggest downsizing in stages. One turn will NOT do it. Afterall, you havnāt been holding on to all the SHIT because it meant nothing right?
It took me a total of 9 months to purge, and being 100% honest (which #5BootiesInTheBeast does solemnly swear to always be!) I am STILL going through the final stages even though I thought this was the least amount of SHIT I could bear to live with in the RV. Articles of clothing I swore 6months ago I couldnāt do without, Iām now finding useless and in the way. Same with some Kitchen SHITā¦some bedding SHITā¦even some bathroom SHIT.
The effect this act of cleansing has on your soul is one of a kind. Itās like being debt free. Whichā¦Seriouslyā¦who is?ā¦So why not feel the next best thing and downsize!
DOOO IT! DOOOOOOO IT! DOOOOOOOOO IT!Ā
