He was bringing a simple bouquet of flowers for Melodie. However, he wasn't looking where he was going and collided into her from behind. Flustered, he jumped back. "S-Sorry Melodie. I... I, uh - brought your flowers. Y'know for being with a year. We'll be doing much more later, ah-" Glancing down at the bouquet, he realized it was smashed from the collision. His expression fell, pouting. "Damn it- I can get you another."
Melodie yelps in surprise, whirling around defensively before stopping, her expression softening. She glanced down at the flowers, her face burning a bright red. A whole year? It hardly felt that long...did time pass differently when you were dead?
She smiled, taking the flowers before he could try and retract them. “Don’t you dare, I love these flowers.” She buried her nose in the petals, inhaling their sweet perfume. “Thanks.” She hesitated before leaning forward, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
