This is essentially the final product but with some cleaning up to do i.e. the overlay of slides at the end.

I changed her ears due to time constraints the flowing nature of her ears would have taken far longer to track. Instead of rabbit ears, they were now based on German Shepherd and bat ears.

I'm happy with the lip-sync aspect of this task, I think it was successful.

My next focus was on the body and the legs.

With the legs, I animated the steps and spin first. I think the spin is effective but in hindsight, it should have been faster. There was a 7-second gap between the feet being still and the spin. I initially thought this was too long so I thought her swaying her leg back and forth would be a good filler of the time. However, I think now it would have been a more effective end if the leg swaying weren't there.

This was the first video of the WIP lip sync. The audio clip is taken from a film called 'Arsenic and Old Lace,' a film where two old ladies are revealed to be murdering people. I thought it was fitting because the character is very dainty and looks as if she wouldn't talk at all, let alone ramble about the recipe for a deadly poison.

I focused on the arms first because I knew I wanted her to gesticulate as she spoke. They were animated in 1's but I changed this to 2's later because I felt it more fitting because I had animated everything else in 2's.

For some reason, whenever I apply colour, It always exports out of Harmony darker/more extreme than they appear whilst animating. Therefore, the final colours appear far darker than the initial plan. It still looks appealing, it just wasn't the exact colour scheme I intended for the character.

I used a pencil that thinned at either end because I wanted the drawings to look like ink drawings. I think this is effective. I usually draw using far sketchier lines but this more fluid drawing is effective. It was difficult to colour with the paint tool so I used the brush tool.

This is a design for the later projects in the course. I chose white, light blue, and teal for the colours of the rabbit because of the connotations of their calming, ethereal and passive qualities, all things I wish the character to convey. I feel these traits are also seen in the design. The big doe eyes are innocent whilst maintaining the supernatural element of being without pupils. The big ears also resemble a cape.

I found this far more difficult than the hand-drawn walk cycle. I lost control of the background somehow and was unable to fix it entirely so it moves. Also, Manny the mannequin has obtained a limp because I didn't lift the body up on the left leg as much as I did on the right. The arms are somehow flailing and too stiff at the same time, as if he were swimming. I think this is because above the elbow is more controlled than below the elbow and overall the movement was too big. I do however like the way the head bobs slightly.

I really like this task. The use of anticipation was fun to implement. Again, I ended up with a cuboid rather than a cube but I think the end result is still effective. I think the colour transitions are something I should have implemented. I thought they looked clunky in the previous task but pairing them with the shadow looked more effective than the shadow with now other lighting effects.
