Hayden rarely had a bad time while attending the hunt with his pack and alpha. More often than not he found himself drooling as meetings between pack leaders and officials took place but this time around, Delwyn his alpha, had given Hayden a free ride, taking one for the team and sitting through the bulk of the meetings. Graciously, Hayden had spent far too much money in the marketplace and was making one last round, meandering through the stalls and small shops with an easy air about him.
His steps were lazy as he glanced over the bottles of liquor, sure that his exuberant spending would be overlooked if he got his alpha drunk enough, old friends since childhood, Hyden knew his buddy and alpha wouldn't be opposed to drinking the finest spirits the other packs and supernaturals had to offer. A group of mages and familiars scuttled past him, making Hayden glance over his shoulder at the crowd, wondering if it was a celebration or commotion he could get involved with when he felt it.
A tingling in his chest as if he were about to shift for the first time and Hayden seemed to falter in his step, eyes slipping away from the group of passerby to scan each face, as if searching to find where this feeling was coming from. His brow furrowed with confusion but he just shook his head, in the process of excusing it away, attention slipping to the shelf in front of him. If he'd known the traits of finding one's mate it would have been obvious what the sensation of warmth and feeling like he was home truly stemmed from but mates were a legend to most packs, most of all the one he grew up in.
