On another Outlander note; what bothered me with the ending was how quickly the scene changed from Roger and Bree reunion to Jamie receiving the letter from the governor. Why couldn't they have left some time in between for the events and people to breathe, I wondered.Â
Then I realised that it wouldn’t have been really possible; had Roger and Bree walked in, the aftermath would have had to start, and that would have taken at least one more episode to sort out. We didn't have that time and probably the showrunners indeed wanted to leave some tension to be sorted out in the next season too. And yet we couldn't finish the story there either as that scene was all about closure; there also had to be a new beginning, something signifying the new phase of the story (the upcoming war). So unfortunately, we were stuck between two very different back-to-back scenes with not enough rest in between... Not ideal, but couldn't be helped.
