Itās always disheartening when your best friend gets married and youāre still in the awkward dating stage. While my best friend is coming up with cute ideas for a blog collab with one of her married friends, talking about everything from date nights with hubbies, fashion, weddings, recipes, etc., Iām over here wondering if Iāll ever be on the same level. Iām not jealous that sheās happy, but itās true that when your friends get married, it puts you at a weird disconnect and you certainly see them way less than you did before.Ā
Itās tough not to be jealous of a friend that has had everything fall together perfectly for her. The friend that has never been single for more than a month in her life, that has had every boy fall at her feet, the friend that landed straight Aās in college, and the friend that ended up marrying the love of her life before the age of 25.Ā
As my Mom has put it, the struggle is what makes life worth it. She believes Iāll be more appreciative that things havenāt come so easily to me, although I beg to differ. Right now, I could really use some stability in my life. I only hope to be the love of someoneās life someday, to have a family, talk about my favorite recipes, date nights, and the many challenges that arise along the way.Ā

That awkward age..
So right now... Iām 23 years old. Iām at that broke but fabulous stage in life. Itās a love and hate relationship I have with this year. I mean I love my life. Itās so much fun and I am very blessed and fortunate... BUT I am broke as shit and I am trying to figure out when that turns around? When do I get my life together? I have a job in event planning and management which is what I like to do but I canāt even live off this. Just recently moved back home until I can find a room for rent or roommates who are in the same financial stall as me. Iām always playing catch up on my bills, living paycheck to paycheck and I am unable to do one thing that I love most in this life....TRAVEL. I donāt have a dime in savings and I keep procrastinating that process to start saving. So like I said, when will this phase end? People sayĀ āI was the exact same when I was your age...ā which doesnt help one bit. I dont wanna wait until Iām 30 to buy all the clothes I want and go to all the places I wanna go. I want to do it now!!!!! Life is ridiculously hard I swear they do not prepare you for this in high school nor college. Like... LIFE IS PRETTY FUCKING EXPENSIVE. Even if I did make more money... I could find a place to live, but how will I eat? Will I be wearing the same dress to work every other Tuesday? But besides all this complaining and confusion I feel, I am blessed & I love my life.Ā
i hate being at this awkward age where i look at wedding photos and goĀ āomg i want that to be meā and also wanting to be a little kid with no responsibilities. being a young adult is weird af
