Has anyone done any crochet with 'yarn' made from t-shirts? I'm thinking that a big crochet t-shirt blanket would be so heavy and cozy for the winter months! Curious if anyone has any tips or tricks from personal experience. Love your blag! Thanks!
there are definitely all kinds of t-shirt yarn crochet projects out there! Due to the fact that t-shirt yarn can be cut to be quite thick, and tends to be durable, those projects are often baskets, bags, and rugs. However, there is a growing diversity in the projects and patterns available, especially as people grow bolder with how thin they want to take their t-shirt yarn!

I haven’t worked with t-shirt yarn myself. I can’t quite bring myself to tear up my shirts! Does anyone else have any information about t-shirt yarn projects? Especially blankets?
I'm from Kentucky and I also say "skayne." I just always took the "ei" to be pronounced the German way I guess?
that’s an interesting comparison. The reason I find it interesting is that the way my ear hear’s German that sound lands closer to ai. (ex: Freitag, http://coerll.utexas.edu/dib/pho.php?k=5)
Pronouncing ‘ei’ as an ‘ay’ sound is actually more latinate in origin. (ex: deinde, http://wheelockslatin.com/chapters/introduction/introduction_diphthongs.html) That sound is seen in words from other Romance languages, like Reign. (Words like eight are technically German in origin, but adopt their spelling much later down the way, probably to mirror Latinate words. The English became rather obsessed with mirroring Latin)
