It's such a warm and affectionate piece of art, I think about it all the time, and I love the way it fits in like a missing scene for the OVA where Avdol also lights his cigarette for him

god i do love that even without seeing the art itself you can just sense the affection and camaraderie between them. at this point my shipping goggles don't even need to be involved, i'm just glad to be here. that kinda dialogue feels super fitting for them, too, especially considering the end of the jail scene where avdol just Stops fighting and sits down all chill because 'hey i only said i'd get you out and i did 😌' – he started them on the path of subtle teasing and now it's jotaro's turn to dish.

ANON. anon, anon hey, do you ever think about how the role jotaro played at the beginning of part 4 is basically the same avdol played for him in part 3? do you ever think about mirrors? about the cyclical nature of love? do you ever wonder if he realised, one of those nights alone yet again in an impersonal hotel room, nothing to fill all the empty space but himself and the soul sharing his body and the hours stretching until dawn?

do you wonder if he tried to live up to what he'd had, all those years ago – to how good he'd had it, however short a time it did last?

(star platinum would normally object to his user trying to harm himself, except the mental image of avdol not only allowing the nickname but smiling at them about it has made him crash catastrophically, and tech support is not available all the way out in Where-The-Fuck-Even-Are-We since mobile data has yet to be invented)

ALSO behind the scenes lore: star platinum is always bunting (ie touching foreheads like a kitty) people he likes in my fic bc i headcanon that magician's red shows affection by touching his beak to people's faces, except star not having a beak means this translates as just gently head-bonking and nuzzling and being an overall menace

but this also means i'm 1000000% convinced that jotaro making his I'm Too Cool To Make A Real Joke So I Just Deadpan Weird Shit comments would have gotten his hair affectionately pecked by magician's red at least once
