💍 – for your muse to propose to mine during the holidays

There’s a red carpet leading from the bar all the way to the town square. By the fountain that’s sitting in the center underneath bright white Christmas lights, everything is decorated in Naadia, or Jasmine’s, favorite colors. In the freezing cold, Chad waits with a glowing smile to greet his princess once she comes to the fountain. 

“My princess.” He holds his hands in front. They’re shaking. He’s nervous. “I was once a poor man given to a snobby palace brat like I was nothing more than an accessory. And then I was a poor man who wanted nothing more than to run away with his princess and start a life of their own. And then the time that should have been ours together was taken from us. I was a cursed man who relied on a bartender for comfort and for affection, who never hesitated to kick my ass when I needed it and saw me when I was at my most repulsive and vulnerable.” He paused for a moment. “… I kinda lost track of where I was going with this, I’ve never been more nervous to do anything more in my life.” He laughed and took Jasmine’s hands in his own. “I love you more than I love myself. I love you more than all the gold in Agrabah. I would very much like to keep that promise I made to my princess so so long ago, and start a life with her.” He got down on one knee and presented a velvet box, and upon opening it showing a shiny diamond on top of a white gold ring. 

“If you would allow me to.” He smiled, nervously. 

🧣 – to wrap a scarf around my muse’s neck to beat the cold

“See? I told you it was gonna snow! Where would you be without me?” He laughed and took off his scarf and wrapped it around Naadia’s neck gently. He pursed his lips though. “… Then again, I can’t afford to risk any damage to my throat and vocal cords due to chill.” He gets behind her and puts his scarf around both their necks. “There, now off we go!” He laughed. 

❄ – to play in the snow with my muse

It was somewhat unusual for it to be the afternoon and Chad hadn’t stopped by. If Naadia came outside, what she would find is the musician making a snowman, piling a slightly smaller snow boulder on top of a larger one. He looks at Naadia and smiles wide, waving her over. “Come help me put the head on! And I need to borrow a hat!” 

❤ – to ask my muse on a holiday date

“So! I very much want to go ice skating but I’m too embarrassed to go alone. I don’t wanna show off my awesome move to everyone with just myself. I need a partner. You should come with me.” He winked at her and chuckled. 

🎄 – to decorate a holiday tree with my muse

“Your side looks so much more elegant and organized… I don’t know if I’m just drunk or if this is the one thing that my flawless style can’t grasp…” 

🌹 – to give my muse a bouquet of winter flowers

Once again, Chad has both made a complete fool of himself and screwed up, making Naadia pissed enough to ban him from the bar until further notice. So, a few days later, he sends a delivery to the bar since he can’t step foot inside. The delivery boy presents Naadia with a large bouquet of poinsettias that were given a snowy effect as well. The delivery boy points to the door where Chad’s arm stretches out and his hand enters the bar while holding another bouquet, these once painted as Naadia’s favorite colors. 

“Are the flowers working?!” Chad calls in. “I can’t see from out here! I am fully prepared to get you all the flowers in town!” 

👄 – to share a kiss under the mistletoe with my muse

“Well, well, well… I see we have a situation here. There’s some mistletoe sitting above us, but there’s this gap between us.” He motions to the space between them. “It’s a real Christmas travesty here. We have to fix it before the Holiday police arrest us.” He chuckled and kissed Naadia on the lips. 

🎼 – to dance to holiday music with my muse

He was helping Naadia close up after last call. Putting up the last chair, he noticed the wide space they had on the floor, enough room to dance. He smirked to himself and went to the jukebox, putting on a song that matched the snowy night outside. Of course he has his own music on the jukebox, his voice ringing throughout the empty bar. ♫Have yourself a Merry little Christmas…♫ He turned to Naadia and held his hand out to her, asking for a dance. “New Christmas album I’m putting out. I’m a sucker for the holidays.” He chuckled. 

“ -- And the penguin goes ‘hey, idiot, that’s my mother!’“ A sea of laughs from Chad and his little group of bar friends. A little early, anchoring down at the bar in the middle of the day, but it’s a normal thing for these folks. 

Chad comes swaggering to the barkeep and hops onto the barstool. He leans over the bar with a casual grin at Naadia. 

“Naadia, can I get another mai tai? You know I love them fruity drinks and you make it perfect as always.” He flashed her the pearly whites. They were best friends, aside from the occasion when Chad gets flirty but Naadia knew how to handle Chad. 

Chad was just finishing his previous drink as he asks for a new one, and making more idle chit-chat before a sudden wave of air and green light flashed through everyone. And like a lightning bolt, it struck him hard and he was utterly shocked, to say the least. 

He slowly moved off the barstool and stood, staring at Naadia. His friend. His bartender. His PRINCESS. What could he possibly say after all this time? 

And it popped into his head -- the first words he said to her when he was presented to her as her property. Before the flowers. Before the secrets. Before the love. Before he was about to executed for their actions and before the Evil Queen’s dark curse saved him from getting his head chopped off before the Sultan. 

“So... this is my life now?”

 He said to her, slowly coming around the bar to her. He has a totally straight face with the same tone he gave her so many years ago but a single tear escapes and tails down his cheeks as he gazes at his princess for the first time in twenty-eight years.

Jack turns from the princess to glance up at the darkenedsky, already antsy as the wind picks him up a couple of feet from the ground. “There’snowhere you can’t go with transportation like mine. And I promise—I’ll bringyou right back as soon as you say the word.”
