#avian!mark

I know that some aus give winged the ability to tucks wings away, but I never really liked that, so I thought of something else. Wing forms (there's another word??), specifically flight and ground.

Flight form, would be the wings fully extended. While ground form would be a smaller more manageable wing size, allowing the wings to be safely and easily hidden from sight.

Jack was in the kitchen with Mark, helping to make dinner for everyone, laughter and yelling coming from the dinning room. "You think we made enough?"

"Not if Bing and Chase get to everything first" Jack's teasing tone making the avian laugh. Making sure to keep his wings tucked, sohe didn't knock something over.

It was great to have everyone together after so long, the ocean between them making it difficult for visiting. So Jack was pleasently surprised to receive a call from Dark, asking him to making the trip over. Apparently Dark was sick of hearing Mark complain about Bing and Edward. Who had both been, not so subtlely, hinting about wanting to see the others.

"You're not wrong Mark," the thought of how much those two could eat sent Jack into a fit of giggles, but seeing Mark stir an almost overflowing pot of spaghetti had him doubling over, "but Jessus that's a lot of pasta!"

Dark has massive wings, like- 

(So I just stopped mid typing to look up bird wingspans and uh, holy fuck. Apparently there was a bird like 5-6mil. years ago(?) that has the size I was thinking of??? It’s called Argentavis Magnificens. Up to fucking 24 feet, wing tip to wing tip! Look at this shit!) 

Yeah, these are definitely Dark’s wings now.

Anyways, Dark’s wings aren’t 100% solid, and are the color of the void, but you can see them shimmer blue and red sometimes. They’re always shifting, and you can’t tell where his feathers end, because black fog is always gently pouring off of them. They’re also not always on him. Dark is able to summon his wings and then put them away, and by “put them away” I mean totally and completely gone. You could take off Dark’s shirt and there would be no sign that this man has massive 24 foot wings.

Mark on the other hand, is direct descendant of actor Mark ((a!M) who was in Damien’s body) Mama Iplier is an avian mythic, a few generations removed though, and has no wings. But genetics aligned and fucked him over. To make matters worse, there are no other avian mythics withing a 50 mile radius. And Mark has to learn by himself how to use and take care of his wings.

Mark’s wings are sleek, built for speed, but are still large enough to glide long distances. They’re a little more than half the size of Dark’s, around 14.5 feet. Because his wings are so sleek it make them easier to hide when he was younger. Now though he has to use glamours and clothing tricks to keep them well hidden.
