The way things shook out with that person has really changed the way you engage in your relationships. Mind your ego: you actually don’t win anything for holding on the longest. Give them their agency back by accepting their decision and reclaim yours by seeing in yourself what they could not.

Not to the point of loneliness, but for the purpose of remaining uninfluenced by others during the time necessary to process your own feelings and thoughts. There’s treasure that will only reveal itself in that silence.

It’ll take a lot of work: firstly, acceptance of how things currently stand. Any efforts trying to change that are better suited transmuting your emotional matter into better motivation.

Your message of advice is to take control of your story. The heartache doesn’t have to be the most important theme; the pain doesn’t have to be the end of this chapter. What magic, art, or healing will you create from all this hurt? How are you creating what comes next?
