GUESS WHO GETS THEIR OWN BASKETBALL UNIFORM??? LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOO

Well, my first concrete memory, upon waking up after I was found, is Dr. Loboto. He was helping Sheegor dress up my wounds, I think.

Kinda hazy now, but I remember being in a ton of pain. The Doc started to crack some jokes that took my mind off the agony until they got me some pain killers. He has an odd sense of humor, but it makes me laugh, and that helps me a lot.

Now I know what most people say. “He’s mean.” “He’s crazy!” “HE’S EVIL!”

But when I look at him, I don’t know, it’s like I can see past the surface layer...

...and all I see is a poor damaged soul. Someone lost, like me. ‘Course, it’s not just that. Despite all that pain, he’s able to overcome it and exudes an extraordinary amount of control over everything and everyone! And that strength, I envy. 

I believe we’ve both gone through some similar circumstances. A reflection of my own.

I pretty much grew up in Florida, but we did move here when I was a little kid. Originally, I'm from Missouri, and I don't have a lot of memories from there, but this one does stand out.

Be forewarned, when you're reading the upcoming paragraphs, you're probably going to say "Why?!" Maybe even outloud. The answer is, "This was the kind of shit my sister did as a teenager. And this was on the milder end of her shenanigans."

A few miles from our house was an old cemetery. Now this was a B horror flick cliche of a cemetery. Run down, with overgrown grass, and cracked and broken headstones. Place looked like a Stephen Gammel illustration. Probably wasn't really looked after anymore. Anyway, one day as we were passing by it, my sister got it in her head to run in, grab a chunk of headstone, and took it with her. She straight up stole a piece of someone's grave. And brought it home.

I think it was either that night or the next, but for some reason I slept in her room. I was on a pallet on the floor, near her closet... which was where she was hiding that freaking chunk of headstone.

To this day, twenty- five years later, I still don't know exactly what happened that night. I'd like to think it was an elaborate prank that she simply never owned up to.

I started hearing a thudding noise, like heavy footsteps. At that point, I pulled the blanket over my head and didn't dare lift it. Peeking through a tiny opening in the blanket, I saw a bright green light. I could hear a deep, angry voice. I stayed hidden under the blanket and eventually fell asleep.

My sister never did put the headstone back where it belonged. She claimed she left it at our grandmother's house... (Refer back to paragraph two.)

Thinking back on it as an adult, it's something I feel guilty about, even if I was only five or six years old at the time. The last time my sister mentioned stealing the headstone, she laughed about it, like it was some dumb joke, as harmless as ding dong ditch. Stuff like this is why I haven't spoken to her in like four years.

Oh, hello! Yes, I do have a fic like that by the name of “Aerospace Accident”, and it’s a fic I’m still working on to this day! It’s on a bit of a hiatus due to a lack of motivation on my part, but it’s still a project I love dearly, and am still very passionate about! Here’s the fic’s description/extra information:

Aerospace Accident

Description: Hero Flug/Illegitimate Son AU. Just a few years before retirement, Black Hat received an unexpected visit from an old friend and colleague, who came to offer him his bastard child. In the midst of his anger- both at the child’s existence and his ex returning home after being gone for so long- he turned the baby away, uninterested in raising a child he never wanted. Now, thirteen years later, his bastard child has become a superhero known as Flugmaður, but although the boy is incredibly good at hiding it, Black Hat knows his kid’s life at home isn’t as loving as he pretends it is. Black Hat never wanted a child, but life happens, and now he’s determined to make a respectable heir out of Flug… whether Flug wants to be or not!

Current Word Count: 179,700 words

Extra Information: Although the description makes it sound like it’s only from Black Hat’s POV, the fic switches between Black Hat and Flug rather frequently, but occasionally will only focus on Flug due to this fic being more about him and his backstory. There are also some OCs in this fic, mainly being background characters, but the most prevalent ones are Terra (Flug’s mom), Harold (Flug’s stepdad), and a non-binary reporter named Jordan Graves that shows up a number of times. Also, a lot of this fic is my personal interpretation of background villain characters in Villanos, so be prepared for certain characters appearing OOC if more Villanos content reveals more about them.

((Okay, now it’s time for some warnings/me saying why I think this fic could be good to read despite the graphic shit))

The Good: A transmale character being written by a transmale author, good sibling dynamics between Flug & Demencia as well as Flug & Goldheart, Black Hat trying to be a good dad and actually doing a decent job at it (sometimes), discussions of childhood and how abuse can have a negative impact on someone’s life no matter their age, fleshed out character arc for Flug, Flug and Dark Phantom being best friends later on, talk of asexuality in a healthy manner, discussion of divorce and how people in unhealthy relationships shouldn’t stay together for their kids’ sake, etc.

The Bad: This fic depicts a fair amount of child neglect, physical abuse of a child, verbal abuse of a child, mentions/hints at past child sexual abuse (though it’s never showed and never will be, and don’t worry, Flug isn’t the victim of it), mentions/hints at self-harm (I’m on the fence as to whether or not this will be shown; leaning on it not being shown due to the fact that I know minors read this fic), Black Hat being kinda bad at parenting but at least he’s trying, eventual and inevitable fallout between Flug and Goldheart, mentions of child homelessness, etc.

For Rosinha/Maria, I started with the lineart for the original.

I traced out some official art of Rosinha that shows her personality a bit. So, I traced that, redesigned it, then drew her original design afterwards!

Rosinha’s father is a toucan, so I wanted to show it a bit more in her beak, as well as changing her look to be more like a parrot. More specifically, a sun conure. I thought the yellow feathers and green clothes would help offset José, with his green feathers and yellow clothes.

A bit odd that I worked backwards, but fun!

She may not look as good now, though. XD

At least she’s more accurate to an actual bird that exists than… I don’t know.
