Hey guys, I'm currently in Grade 11 attending high school in Canada. I saw one of your posts had the Johns Hopkins tag on it, so I'm assuming one of you go there. Can any of you give me any tips on getting in? I want to go into medicine and many people say that JHU is a great school for pre-meds. I have a SAT score of 2260 (one sitting) and I'm not sure what my GPA would be (because my high school uses 1-100 grades.)
Hi there!! Iām sorry if this has taken a while! My name is Mei and I go to Johns Hopkins. Great choice, and based off of your SATs I think you have a good chance of getting in. (You did better than I did!) Of course, there are a lot of other factors too, like your personal essay, your grades in school, and your extra curriculars. We are a fantastic school for pre-meds and have one of the best Medical schools in the country. Also, if youāre interested in Biomedical Engineering, our BME undergrad program is the best in the country and probably the world. My tips for getting in would be to present your best, genuine self. Show the admissions office how much you want to come here and why you would be a great fit for this school. Show them what makes you unique, why you stand out from any other applicant, but be honest. Interviews are apparently very helpful (although I personally didnāt do one) and really make sure that this is the school for you and show us that. If you ever want to come down and visit feel free and Iād love to show you around campus! (This applies by the way to anyone who wants to come see campus⦠I love giving tours, even though Iām not actually a JHU tour guide) If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
