The sink should be plural imo
Rant under the cut
WHAT REALLY GETS ME ABOUT THEM IS THAT WHETHER MARTIN IS REAL OR NOT ACTUALLY DEPENDS ON YOUR DECISION. Is he sink? Is he man? I argue they’re both.
I’d be inclined to just say Martin’s endings are just Sinclaire living in a delusion, but no. He actually does have a wife and kids to return to. Which just makes me upset for them during Sinclaire’s endings. My assumption is that the INTENTION was that reality is shaped by your belief. Whether Martin’s story is true or just a bad trip all depends on what you say it is.
But alternately I like to see it as. A fight for control. Which persona is the one that gets to continue existing? The sink who had many friends in the house and who has as much right to realization as the rest of the objects, or the real live human being stuck in that same body? Idk it’s stupid. I really wish I could have both.
I have an obsession with characters with alter egos who are their own characters. Multiple characters sharing a body… it’s one of my favorite tropes. And I REALLY like Martin because he’s fucking insaneee!! He’s a little weirdo! That’s why i started liking him in the first place just. The stupid way he talks.
I would really like for the two to have an interaction but that can’t really happen because they don’t really exist at the same time? I think exploring the idea of them being plural could be really interesting though. The idea of Sinclaire post-canon freaking out at what’s essentially a ghost of a person he thought he completely made up during a very bad breakdown. Thinking he’s going crazy again. I think Martin in front would handle it… better. Bc he kinda already lost it. Hallucinating? Why not? Who cares? There’s a human sink in your head now. Congrats. I do wonder about Martin if he was always that quirky or if something about getting cursed fried his brain. My guess is he was always a little odd but it was exasperated.
Really enjoy the idea of Sinclaire learning human behaviors from Martin since he seems a tad. Clueless about that sort of thing during his realization ending. But that’s an awful idea bc Marvin is not a great example of how a human should act
