Paint.
I’m a student in alaska, and this is going to be the blog i use during the school day, and on my school chrome book.
Too smart for school, fancy clothes, comedian, hovercraft.
I seemed to have fallen asleep in class again. Except this time it was auto mechanics class and I was in high school. The problem was that it did not look like the auto class from high school, but the auto class I had in technical college. It still felt an awful lot like high school.
The main auto bay was very large but only had a single bay door entrance. I suppose it was sized for something akin to a tractor trailer front end or a large lorry. It was also quite dark, perhaps after hours or simply with most of the lights turned off. It was not difficult to see and not at all dangerous with the tools and machinery about.
I was also feeling extremely lost. I had the knowledge and experience to be far beyond what this auto class was teaching. I knew they were just there to do the basics, but I had been working for years in mechanics.
I heard the teacher someplace nearby, by a rattle of tools or some casual words he spoke mostly to himself. I had an idea and asked aloud if I could bring my Bronco in and do an engine overhaul. The answer was no. But it wasn't a bad type of no. Not strict or disapproval. It was more one of lack of time in the class itself and lack of teacher to supervise. It made sense.
I also slowly came to the realization that, aside from the teacher, I was the only one there. I guess it really was too late, or perhaps too early. The class was really just shut down. I walked around between tool racks and shelving, picking up a few used boxcutter blades and figuring I could at least put those away. One door looked like it led to a storage closet and I went to it.
I had another idea and asked the out-of-sight teacher if there was a more advanced school nearby where I could attend and perhaps do work.
But before I got a reply I found myself opening the door and stepping outside the building.
It was bright daylight and rather nice weather. The sky was blue with mixed clouds. The air was pleasantly warm. It was the middle of a city so there was a lot of traffic and associated city noise.
I walked to the nearest intersection, which seemed to be across a small parking lot at the school, the crossed the street at the crosswalk. A short walk along the sidewalk led me to an unfamiliar strip mall.
I was beginning to feel a bit hot from the sun and general daytime heat and went into the first shop I was near, which was an upscale clothing shop. I browsed around while I was cooling off and started to feel uncomfortable. All the clothing was fancy. Not like stage performance or white-tie-tux, but ljust expensive designer stuff. I felt like I was severely under-dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, and that I was probably being watched for thievery. Or perhaps I was feeling this way because I wasn't actually wearing anything below the waist (again). I checked and was relieved to find I was actually wearing pants and shoes.
I noticed a rack with some rather nice-looking leather jackets and, even though I knew they were going to be expensive, I checked the price on one that seemed to be decently made. The price tag read $465. With that I stepped back outside before anyone approached me to tell me to leave.
Further down the strip mall was a department store with an unknown name. Inside was just typical department store-ness. In the front was an actual arcade with video game machines, and only two kids looking at them but not playing. There was an entrance to the store but it was up some stairs and along a catwalk above the game machines.
This is where the comedian arrived.
He started to make fun of the kids and bait them with little jokes and remarks, almost more of a heckler than comedy, though some of this physcal actions were quite silly and funny. He was just some middle-aged man with a balding head in a t-shirt and jeans, with a bag of tricks. I followed him into the store, but lost sight of him almost immediately.
Since I was at the store and it was large enough, I thought I would get some groceries while I had the chance, but was slightly distracted by the displays and layout. Instead of finding the grocery department, I found myself in a back service hallway for the employees.
The comedian was already there, and he was entertaining a small crowd of employees in the hallway, which formed a bit of a congested blockade of bodies. He was doing a great job of making them laugh and mystifying them with some simple magic tricks.
He waved me over then went down the hallway and up some stairs. I followed close behind. We ended up on the roof.
A small silver and grey aircraft was parked on the roof.
We got inside and the comedian started the engine and began to taxi across the roof. I noted there was no way we could take off. There was not enough room, and there were pipes and air conditioners in the way.
But the aircraft simply started to hover upwards and move along more like a helicopter. From my vantage point (outside view looking into the front) I could see it looked much like a smaller LearJet by the main body, except without wings. In place of those were mechanical arms with fans at the ends. The fans were not very large, maybe a meter in diameter at more. There seemed to be five or size along each side and they provided enough power to get us airborne.
