People get messed up in different ways due to this system of things. And if we could do everything perfectly, then we would not need Jesus' mercy covering sacrifice. Would we?

And no one should have to tell every crook, stranger, foe, or neighborhood community what their personal hardships are in tears and begging; in order for people to deal with them in integrity.

So where some people look good in all their actions, they still have something they need help from Jesus to manage such matters the best way they can.

Especially when this system's agent Smiths has continually hit you none stop all your life where you can't even get out of the battlefield to do any better. Or they have continually broken down the progress you made to do better.

It's not making a frivolous excuse; the mitigating circumstances are real and FACT. So for all those nosey hypocrites who looked into matters on such a level they shouldn't have; then as I told a few years ago all they will do/did was damage their own minds and possibly relationship God. Why? Because they are still looking at tearing others down in order to make themselves be better. Extreme hunger games competition included.

Therefore, I appreciate God's counsel all the more about love and snatching people out of the fire; not looking for ways to keep pushing them in it; and then calling it training or discipline. I said what I said, and I mean what I said. - Regards, James Lynch

A person could have more happening inside on the level of trauma. Trying to make them think like you could be a losing battle. So all you can do in that position of power is to do what's right and not go beyond what is necessary in so-called teaching a person a lesson while allowing the harm to continue. What is #abuse ?

Authors corner: J.R.R. Tolkien (1892-1973)

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien lost his father at a very tender age and was raised up by his mother, who ingrained in him deep devotion to Christianity, Catholicism in particular. Her death left the 12-year-old John an orphan, but her found his protector in a priest Francis Morgan. Tolkien was fiercely intelligent and an extremely talented linguist with great desire to learn. All of these qualities helped him to study at the Oxford university and successfully finish it in 1915. Unfortunatelly by that time the World War 1 was raging on, and Tolkien, recently married, was called to arms. In 1916 he participated in the battle of Somme, which understandably left a deep mark on his psyche, all the more so because most of his friends perished. It was in the dreary and bleak atmosphere of the trenches that his stories, that would later become Middle-Earth, were written.

Tolkien succumbed to trench fever and was transported back home, which probably saved his life, as he did not return to the front again. After war he further pursued his academic career, becoming a Professor in 1924, eventually finding a permanent employment at the Oxford University. His personal life after war was a happy one. He deeply loved his wife Edith and their four children, never being ashamed of showing his affection and dedicating much time in creating stories for them. When eventually Edith passed away, Tolkien felt lost and heart-broken, following her into death a mere year later.

Tolkien is considered to be one of the founding fathers of the fantasy genre and till this day few writers have reached the depth and width of the worldbuilding he had. During his life The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings were published, but it was only after his death and thanks to the effort of his children that the greater part of his work was uncovered to the public. A brilliant linguist, father of a genre and an extremely self-critical author, Tolkien belongs among the most remarkable writers of all time.

Trivia:

One of his closest friends was C.S. Lewis, the author of The Chronicles of Narnia. Tolkien was responsible for Lewis abandoning atheism and embracing Christianity.

Among Tolkien antics were: going to a non-costume party dressed as a polar bear, chasing a neighbor dressed as an axe-wielding Anglo-Saxon warrior, and handing shopkeepers his false teeth as payment.

Middle -Earth originally served Tolkien as a background for the Elvish languages he had invented rather than a set-up for a book.

When The Hobbit was to be published in the Nazi Germany, Tolkien was asked by the German editor whether was was of “Aryan” race, which prompted this amazing reply: “Thank you for your letter. I regret that I am not clear as to what you intend by arisch. I am not of Aryan extraction: that is Indo-Iranian; as far as I am aware none of my ancestors spoke Hindustani, Persian, Gypsy, or any related dialects. But if I am to understand that you are enquiring whether I am of Jewish origin, I can only reply that I regret that I appear to have no ancestors of that gifted people.“ What a sick burn!!

Authors corner: Sigrid Undset (1882-1949)

Sigrid was born in Denmark, but her father was Norwegian. To him Sigrid owned her deep love of history and old nordic literature, unfortunately he passed away when the girl was only twelve years old. To support her mother Sigrid later took an office job, but as soon as 1907 she managed to publish her first novel Mrs. Marta Oulie. A number of  short novel, novellas and short stories followed, most of them centered on the role of a woman in the family circle. Interestingly, she saw the woman´s emancipation as a source of conflict and never took to feminism. Still, she managed to create strong and individual female characters. Her own personal life was far from idylic. In 1912 she marries a Norwegian painter Anders Svarstad, however their relationship fell apart few years later and the marriage was annulled. Sigrid raised her three children by herself, including a daughter who was mentally handicapped.

While most of her stories were  contemporary, the biggest triumph for her came with Kristin Lavransdatter, which she wrote between the years 1920 and 1922. Set in the medieval Norway, it captured not only a moving story of Kristin from her childhood years to her old age, but also the way of everyday life in the difficult conditions of the region at that time. Kristin Lavransdatter was awarded with the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1928. 

Sigrid Undset was one of the authors who openly condemned fasicm and her books were banned in Germany in the 1930s. After Norway was invaded by the Germans in 1940, she had to flee to the neutral Sweden. Her eldest son died fighting the Nazis. Eventually Sigrid Undset traveled across SSSR to the USA, bombarding the world with her articles calling everyone to fight the Nazis and fascism. In 1945 she was able to return to her beloved home country, however her writing efforts seemed to have been spent. She passed away in 1949.

Trivia:

Her father, Ingvald Martin Undset, was an archeologist, who used to travel all over Europe in connection with his work. He was a close associate of Heinrich Schliemann.

Her parents were both atheists and she, for a long time, an agnostic. Eventually the turmoil in her life led her to embrace catholicism.

Authors corner: Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy (1828-1910)

When his university teachers criticised him for being good for nothing, they had no idea the noble born Lev Tolstoy would create some of the most important pieces of the world literature. True enough, at first he seemed just one of those young Russian aristocrats who gamble and are permanently in debt. However after serving with an army Tolstoy started to write and never put the pen down after that. He was a firm believer in bettering the life conditions of a common Russian man and thought everything would improve if the peasants were only given education. This belief was further strengthened by his travels around Europe, which showed how backwards Russia was in comparison to other states. On his beloved estate Yasnaya Polyana he opened a school for both adult peasants and their children when he and other members of his family taught. Time and again he was in despair because the peasants largely considered the school and education as a mere additional burden and saw no benefit in it. Tolstoy in their eyes was an eccentric. Russian Tsar, mistakenly, took him for a revolutionary.

Tolstoy was also an ardent pacifist. In his opinion every conflict could be solved without a fight. His personal life was, however, marked with disquiet. In 1862 he married much younger Sophia “Sonya” Behrs. Their relationship, filled with both physical passion and emotional insensitivity from his side, deteriorated over the years, even though they had thirteen children. Sophia had to deal with her husband´s increasingly radical beliefs, which eventually led to him rejecting his family wealth and even copyright of his earlier works.

In 1910 the old and frail Tolstoy left his home and family without a word in the middle of a wintery night. He caught a severe chill which developed quickly into pneumonia, dying at a trainstation after a few day´s rail journey south.

Trivia:

Tolstoy fought in the Crimean War from November 1854 to August 1855.

Because of some of his radical views Tolstoy was under surveilance by the secret police for a time.

Also for his radical views he was excomunicated by the Russian Orthodox Church in 1901.

Natasha Rostova, the heroine of War and Peace, was inspired by Tolstoy´s wife Sophia.

Authors corner: Charlotte Brontë (1816-1855)

The eldest of the three famous Brontë sisters, Charlotte was an ambitious young woman with big dreams. Her first attempts at publication were far from successful. When she sent some of her writings to England's Poet Laureate, Robert Southey, he replied with a letter: “Literature cannot be the business of a woman's life, and it ought not to be. The more she is engaged in her proper duties, the less leisure will she have for it, even as an accomplishment and a recreation." But Charlotte did not give up. 

Determined to receive a good education, she managed to persuade her family to finance her stay in Belgium, where she studied, later taught and fell unhappily in love with a married, older man. Upon her return she supported her family by becoming a governess, even though she felt unfit for the job and hated it. It was she who eventually persuaded her shy and not at all attention hungry younger sisters to publish their works, and ironically it was her own first book that got rejected while the works of the sisters were approved for publication. Still not discouraged Charlotte submitted her second novel called very simply Jane Eyre in 1847. The book was an astouding and immediate success and had since become one of the most famous and beloved pieces of world literature. 

After the untimely death of all of her younger siblings she remained with her old father to tend to him, eventually entering a marriage with a clergyman Arthur Bell Nichols in 1854. She soon discovered she was pregnant, but her happiness did not last long. She experienced severe pregnancy difficulties which led to dehydration and malnourishment. Eventually, on March 31, 1855 she passed away together with her unborn child.

Trivia:

She was a third child and daughter in a family. Her elder sisters Maria and Elizabeth both died of consumption in tender age, after living in apalling conditions of a boarding school. Maria became the inspiration for the character of Helene Burns in Jane Eyre.

She was extremely near-sighted.

Charlotte hated being a teacher. One of her journals carries the following quote:  "If those girls knew how I loathed their company, they would not seek mine as much as they do.”

Charlotte used a male pen name to publish her first two novels. It was “Currer Bell”
