Best book you’ve read so far in 2026: H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald completely took me by surprise by how beautiful and touching it was. As for fiction, it was probably The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood and Agnes Aubert's Mystical Cat Shelter by Heather Fawcett

Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2026: Has to be A Mouthful of Dust by Ngi Vo. The whole series is magical.

New release you haven’t read yet but want to: The Unicorn Hunters by Katherine Arden. There are others, but I am not sure if I can squeeze them into this year.

Most anticipated release for the second half of the year: Not very up to date, but right now it is probably Dead Beat by Leigh Bardugo, just because I have been waiting for it for a very long time.

Biggest surprise favorite new author (debut or new to you): I have to give it to Helen Macdonald, but just for fun let´s mention André Alexis too.

Newest fictional crush: Havelock Renard be that dude.

Book that made you cry: I was a bit teary-eyed while reading the collection of poems by Jaroslav Seifert called "Mummy"

Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received): The prettiest book was probably The Elsewhere Express by Samantha Soto Yambao, but I also have to mention Charlotte Brontë's Life Through Clothes by Eleanor Houghton.

Book that made you happy: Lud-in-the-Mist by Hope Mirrlees reminded me of anoher book I love dearly. What an underrated classical fantasy.

What books do you need to read by the end of the year? About 1490 that I have on my physical TBR? :D OK, I really want to read these before the year runs out
