almost 4 months ago I made a bet with my brother, which consists of whoever finishes to read the series ''the changed future '' by Authoressjean , Whoever loses has to make a dessert and 100 pesos to whoever wins! Up to now I'm winning! (he is now in part 1 "to change the course of the future" and I in part 21! jajajajaja!)

but the important thing is that we are having a lot of fun, every time he finishes a chapter, he comes to tell me what he thinks, we laugh, we cry, we share our favorite parts, and I encourage him to write a comment because I knows how important it is to support  writers !!!

But I’ll boil it down to this: I was told that my work wasn’t good enough, that my ending on my story wasn’t acceptable, that I’d ruined the entire series for them (as readers), that to even look at my stories made them sick. Because I’d dared to write what I’d had in my head as an ending all along.

I didn’t have to write all of those stories. Nor did I have to share them. After those responses, I changed the ending and left. I couldn’t deal with anyone or look at fandom or write Bilbo or Thorin anymore.

I hope this and the post I replied to sort of helps everyone understand why I couldn’t come back. It didn’t help that my health was taking a nosedive and things sort of kept going from there. I wasn’t in a good place after posting the end of the changed future. I really wasn’t.

I’ve learned yet again that writing something that you want is more important than what others want. It’s still hard to listen to and deal with people who come out and attack you for your work. I can take constructive criticism, I very much look forward to it. But what happened wasn’t constructive criticism. They took my work and insisted that I write it for them the way they wanted it, they demeaned me, and they left me feeling like I had done them some sort of wrong when all I did was write the story the way I wanted it to go. Just as I’d been doing all along.

I’m not writing this to start a witch hunt. I’m not writing this for sympathy. I’m writing this so if you find yourself coming across an author or an artist and you don’t agree with how they’ve done something, leave it alone. You don’t need to tell them how they make you sick. You don’t need to tell them that you feel betrayed. You need to give them the same respect you would want for yourself. Don’t like, don’t read/look at/watch/etc. Just walk away.

Just finished it, chapter 2 of 2. Also fixed chapter 1 since AO3 saw it fit to eat all of my italics.

One would think that with the whole company, an elf king, and a bowman all knowing what was to come, Bilbo would have an easier time getting them all through the day alive.

Hi all. This is that Authoressjean person in case you’re wondering, “Who the actual fuck is that?”

No I haven’t written Bagginshield in forever. I honestly haven’t written fanfic at all since I finished The Changed Future series. There’s been a lot stuff going on, and I’ll keep it brief.

#1 - Health. Looking back over the first fic, ‘to change the course of the future’, there were health issues there, and unfortunately over the past year, they only increased. My only consolation is the fact that they crescendoed at different times. I haven’t spoken a lot about it, even on my Facebook or to my friends in real life, but there’s been a lot behind the scenes and I’m just now coming out of the other side. I hope it’s the last other side. Still have a lot of tests to do (and I bitched at umbralillium today about doctors being vampires - seriously, my left arm is swollen from how much blood’s been pulled in the past two months). But I’m getting there.

#2 - The happier reason - I finished my original novel. It’s raw and I’m working on editing it and adding in a few last scenes that I think are missing, now that I can look at it as a whole. But over 113,000 words later, and it is finished. Four plus years into what felt like a dream, it’s a heady feeling.

And I’m logging back on now mostly because I have a Bagginshield bunny that won’t go away and I think, I think, I’m willing to write it. Things ended...not exactly the way that I wanted them to with The Changed Future. Mostly in the responses to it before I rewrote the very ending. And it’s kept me from wanting to write in the world of fanfics again. I haven’t even READ fanfic in almost a year I was so turned off. Which means I have a plethora of fanfics to read/catch up on but still. I even had a bunny for the Yule time area to throw into The Changed Future but even thinking about it just made me sick to my stomach so I couldn’t do it. Maybe next year or just some random point (Ha, Yule in July anyone?).

But this bunny hasn’t gone away, and with nudging and encouragement from conspirators (you know who you are), I think I’ll give it a shot again.
