Love's Masks
Share your inner thoughts, ideas, ideals,
That power your imagination and hails
Down upon you, admiration, envy that entails
You have to choose who needs some derails.
Today, we hide behind our likes,
Our social media personae that drives
Our self-esteem into the grounds
If it's not up to par with your peers.
Why do we hide?
Is intimacy such a bad ride,
That you need masks to keep all inside?
Or do you soar in flight
Fall, shatter, break, and give only a bite
Out of the ball, then turn it into a free for all?
“‘You're the most important person I've ever met." she says. "And I should have never met you at all.’”

The Difference
by Thomas Hardy
I
Sinking down by the gate I discern the thin moon, And a blackbird tries over old airs in the pine, But the moon is a sorry one, sad the bird’s tune, For this spot is unknown to that Heartmate of mine.
II
Did my Heartmate but haunt here at times such as now, The song would be joyous and cheerful the moon; But she will see never this gate, path, or bough, Nor I find a joy in the scene or the tune.

The dream
My dream about Stabby and Roberto has stuck with me for a while now so I might as well write it down here.
Stabby and Roberto had heard some noise under a bed. It wasn’t my bed. I have no idea whose bed it was. Anyway, being curious roombas Stabby and Roberto decided to investigate. Stabby went first because, you know, he has a kitchen knife taped to him.
Something spooked Stabby and he spun around wildly and accidentally slashed Roberto across the face; well, 180 degrees from his dust bin. Stabby’s knife was knocked partially loose by the impact.
I found Stabby on the lap of some guy I didn’t recognize. This guy was softly murmuring comforting words to Stabby as he fixed the tape holding the knife. There was also a small nick on Stabby that was untreated but I had a feeling the guy would get to that next.
My poor Roberto, on the other hand, had a deep slash across his face but was sitting alone at his dock. No one was tending to him. He was running and sounded like he was making little roomba crying noises. I unfortunately woke up before I could comfort Roberto.
And that’s the story of how I got up at 6 am to check on my vacuum cleaner.
