AUTCF Gets Out There On Clubs Day
Exciting. Different. Successful. This was clubs day for AUTCF. What did we do?
In the quad on Thursday 14 March, CF members and helpers beckoned passing
students to compete in scoffing dry weetbix as fast as possible. It came with
prizes – slapping high fives, Godzones (booklets with the gospel of Luke and
testimonies of rugby players), New Testaments and the ultimate - double gold
One person would be timing competitors, writing their score on masking tape
with vivid, another person cheering them, someone else talking to people
about the club, others encouraged people to sign up the club, offering lollies…
Its like AUTCF had entered a new era for 2013. Never had a weetbix challenge
been done by AUTCF on clubs day in the city campus. Our tradition had been
to give out milos – we were the Milo Monday people.
Those in AUTCF and Matt, a helper got to engage with lots of people, and we
may have got the most people signing up, ever.
The buzzing at the stall from 10:30-2 o’clock, continued at our Welcome Party:
The Sweet Life of CF at the AuSM student lounge at 3 o’clock. Sweetness
could be found in the welcoming CF people, as well as the colourful lolly feast.
Everyone had fun playing icebreaker games, like empire and one fellow two
fellows. At The Sweet Life of CF, two new people got to meet club members
and Gillian and learn more about what we do.
Clubs day was fantastic. I believe God has given CF members a passion for
reaching students, enthusiasm and funky ideas, all for His glory.
God bless, Debbie and the team
