        “ i suspect you’re going to tell me. ” emine said gently. out of all of the actors here it was knightley she had been about to confide in. there was something comfortable about his presence.  she didn’t know why his opinion had begun to matter to her but it had. perhaps it was the insistence that austenland was not the best place to try her hand at matchmaking. or that there are other things she ought to be more kind about. all things that emine should have been more in tun with for the last several years but the company of her father had acted as. shield from harsh truths. she heaved a dramatic sigh, “ all right yes, i would love to know your thoughts. ”

             At first Francesca is once again rolling her eyes at being asked about the Earl of Kilmartin but of course she cannot leave this sort of question without an answer, she wouldn’t want for a sweet girl like Marianne to get caught up in Michael’s wickedness.  ❝ Well, I am sure you have heard the rumours and even though he has been out of England for four years, I am quite sure nothing has changed. The Earl is simply not a good prospect for any self respecting lady and I am sure you are not desperate enough that you cannot find a better match. And even if you are so desperate I will personally make sure to introduce you to much better prospects! ❞  

         kate took a deep breath in. she wished very much to be in the comfort of her own clothes. this had been a birthday present for edwina though, so she was going to play her part well. there was something so inauthentic about the experience that she had a difficult time losing herself in it.  she found it all so tiring to try to pretend all the time. half the time her cheeks ached from attempting to give out polite smiles. so she sat and minded her needle work. it wasn’t very good but she found that if she focused on it enough that time passed by quickly enough. “ you have looked quite enthralled with your book today. ” kate remarked. “ care to share what it’s about ? ”

“ cheer up, caroline. life rarely goes as planned either way, best not to expect too much. ” and thank the lord things didn’t go according to plan, for anne hadn’t exactly been too thrilled to be a marriage candidate for her cousin. she hadn’t hidden her delight either when he chose elizabeth bennet. since these things were now solved, life did look a whole lot brighter, though the opposite seemed true for caroline. “ there will be plenty opportunities for a marriage of convenience for someone with your beauty and prospects. shall we look for some together, since i’ll be out in society at last? will you help me? because i know next to nothing about london society. ” that wasn’t exactly true, for anne had always kept up rather well with what happened in social circles, but perhaps it’d help the young woman focus on other things instead of the whole union between darcy and elizabeth.
