Alex brought so much energy and creativity to set and took a ton of risks, and it resulted in my favorite shot of the week by far! She modeled the fuck out of that outfit and I’m living for her neck extension and the way she’s effortlessly balancing on the shoes. She does look short, but she needed to sacrifice her height and break up her body otherwise those clothes would’ve swallowed her whole. Her face is so stunning and I love how her “I’m above it all” expression has an underlying somberness to it. I was immensely furious that Alex was eliminated this week. She was arguably the strongest and most consistent competitor from the beginning and she was completely robbed of a spot in the finale.

This is one of Brittany’s most high fashion shots in the competition! All of the understated angles she created with her body are awesome and help prevent her from being overwhelmed by the outfit, and I love the way she’s pulling at the strands of fabric. I even love the pigeon-toed stance and how she worked the shoes.  While her eyes are pointed too far to the side, her face is so beautiful and her fiercely edgy expression is on point. I don’t know if Brittany would be my choice for a finale spot, but I can’t really fault that decision since she won the go-sees this week and has been on a roll in the past few photoshoots.

So this was clear sabotage right? Jess was doing a ton of amazing things on set and there had to be better options to choose from. I think twisting her torso more to the side would’ve brought more shape to the clothing, but otherwise her pose is solid and I like how she sold the shoes. Her icy eyes are fantastic, but there’s something slightly off about the angle of her face and how the light is hitting her. It’s not a bad shot, just a boring one. I can see why Jess was eliminated since she screwed up the New York go-sees so badly (she was 15-30 minutes late to both appointments and stumbled twice when demonstrating her walk). However, based on the season as a whole I think she should’ve been in the Final 2.

Lucy brings up the rear once again. Styling-wise she was given a huge advantage (her outfit was the most straightforward and she’s the only one not in platform shoes), and yet she did nothing with it. Her tip-toe spring is more awkward than dynamic, and she doesn’t seem aware of the clothing (the jacket slipping off that limp arm is a mess). I love how her face caught the light and her profile is gorgeous as usual, but her expression is far too vacant due to her blank eyes and slack mouth. There’s no way Lucy should’ve advanced to the finale, even with her massive potential she had my least favorite shot and the weakest overall portfolio at this point.

She manages to get even better, Brittany has nailed this shot. Easily her best in the competition. From head to toe Brittany looks stunning, there is just a casual brilliance here. It almost seems candid. I love the way she is playing the top, pulling at the strings. It gives it another fresh element. Brittany looks so damn flawless here, I am really just in awe, and struggling to explain why I love it so damn much.

I definitely think Alex was robbed of a place in the finale, this is a great shot and should have carried her through. I am astonished she managed to strike that pose in those shoes, and maintain composure. The pose is dramatic, it is striking. The clothes look great, and despite being a shorter model she has still commands the shot. Her face is gorgeous too, though that seems like a given now. I love the softness of the face, it contrasts with the strength of the shot in general.

On the basis of these shots, Jess was probably rightfully was eliminated. This photo is a solid drop in quality from the top 2. I think the body is alright, though I do find she gets swallowed by the clothes. I know that was the style, but Jess looks almost like a child, and slightly shorter than normal. Her face is the issue for me, it lacks any power, and is a bit blank. Still, it is significantly better than Lucy’s shot.

I never actually watched this episode, so I am unsure why Lucy’s clothes are so different from the others. Her shoes are literally just trainers, so she had a much easier job than the monstrosities the others had, yet somehow her shot is completely subpar. It is such a static shot, despite her trying to add drama. Her face too lacks any power. The entire shot from head to toe just feels like a missed opportunity, and wasted energy. I can kind of get Lucy reaching this point, besides the final 7 I can see arguments for keeping her around, but how she survived over Alex and Jess is beyond me. Its almost as if the show couldn’t even risk having a non-brunette winner.
