For what it’s worth-
Most days I feel like I’m seventeen again. Or maybe sixteen actually. I might be getting the last of the teenager out of me. I’ve spent so much time rushing to grow up and now that my teenage years are about over with I’m wondering why I wished it away all of the time.
I don’t usually take Yoshi to kindy in the morning but one morning last week I did. We were rushing, super late of course, and when we arrived we hurried to take his things off and get him into class. On my way out I ran into a Momma I had met before and her daughter. They were hunched over checking out a flower. “Hi!” I said as I hurried past her. Then, I paused. I spun on my heels and crouched beside them. I took a breath. Fuck! How could I have almost missed this! Right there in front of me was a beautiful native purple flower with drops of rain dripping off. This moment is all we’ve got. I wonder what else I miss.
