#WisdomWednesday #WCW #AuntyMaxine I couldn't even pay attention to the idiocy of O'Reily because I knew Aunty Maxine would handle him all the way right!🙌🏿👏🏿 She not only handled him, but she handled all these fools for all of us Black women who have to deal with the constant disrespect at home, on the streets and in our workplaces from men and women of all races ,ethnicities and education levels. Statistically today Black women are the highest # found in higher education, yet we are still the lowest paid. Black women continue to achieve to the highest heights on every level, yet we are constantly having to be belittled and distracted with conversations about our hair, our clothes and how our bodies attract or do not attract different types of men... It is beyond infuriating what Black women around the world have to deal with to stand as equals to all. Within our own communities, we need to put a mirror up to how we treat Black women and what we hail and participate in as acceptable because we teach others how to treat us by how we treat ourselves, and O'Reily's type of disrespect has been heard and accepted within our own communities toward our women for far too long. Before the slave master learned to put us in check with shackles and whips we were already doing it to ourselves and still doing it today in many parts of our world. I am in Ghana where the new minister of gender was met with such disparaging words by her male counterparts in parliament who preferred to focus on her hairstyle more so than her qualifications for the job and the ideas she was putting forth during her vetting process. Unfortunately in her own PTSD in living and growing up in a patriarchal system - she too ended up perpetuating the same patriarchy when she suggested that if young girls refrained from wearing short dresses then they would lessen their chances of being raped. 🙄😏🤔😢SMH!
