As Scarlett would have said in the sequel “Today.... is another day!” Or, would it have been “Today.... is a new day!” With the passing of that storm front I feel so much better. While I didn’t get a lot of sleep as I was putting together a stoma ring and one piece appliance combo (something we’d never used and what we had left until new supplies arrive). Using a little guidance gleaned from some YouTube videos and Google articles we marched on. That process only took an hour and a half somewhere between 11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. Then, Momma woke up a few hours later a little confused and a lot uncomfortable with all her eight pillows and assorted blankies. A little conversation and a revamping of the bed and she was settled. But because we were up the boys then wanted outside but didn’t stay long due to the recent rain. Lol. But the few hours of passed out tired and mentally exhausted did me wonders. As I sit having my coffee I’m pondering: - Who was Ms. Smith that cooked, at the diner, momma worked at in her youth? I seem to need her cookbook as Momma keeps wanting foods made like she made them. Although, that would have been the era where folks just did a little of this and a little of that and cooked it just so... and didn’t have a recipe card for it. - Perhaps, I need to get some tweezers and a microscope for cooking. Momma now gives me measurements for ingredients in the grain value... about four grains of salt, maybe eight grains of chicken bouillon - I know I shouldn’t be amused but momma has started having some issues with bringing “the reel of what she was seeing in her mind” into reality when she first wakes up at night. Last night I had to explain that no, no I had not gift wrapped her diapers, one in red and one in green, Christmas paper and left them sitting on the couch as a joke. I also had to shoo away that “one doctor” away from the headboard of the bed because he was making her nervous and he was in my light while trying to put on her new appliance. While I have had an “enhance your calm, John Spartan” process overnight I am still keeping an eye out for one of those Aunt Esther going to church pocketbooks. Yanno the heavy triangle ones on a chain that Southern ladies took to church. Cuz ya never know when ya might need to beat Jesus into somebody...
