This track is by a member of one of my favorite bands of the moment, Kero Kero Bonito, a crazy genre-hopping, globe-trotting group with multilingual lyrics, an almost childlike fascination conveyed through tonalities and melodic lines, and oftentimes biting social commentary (see the chorus for “Sick Beat” and its denouncement of the imposition of gender roles within the realm of hobbies and interests). Now, Gus, who also produces weird music under the guise “Kane West”, describes himself as a “General MIDI enthusiast”, and it kinda shows here with the rather basic synthesized sounds produced. HOWEVER, with his masterful arrangement and layering, it actually sounds great, and the context, that he wrote this song to thank a stranger on the internet for helping with Japanese translations, is the sweetest thing ever! the lyrics, in the description, are also quite funny
