idk i decided to write some dragon age au i mean why the fuck not
As silly as Hagakure typically was, he could be serious when he knew when he was in deep shit. And right now he was practically up to his eyeballs in it.
"Ya gonna eat that?"
The human nearly jumped out of his skin as the horned young girl across the inn table actually spoke for the first time since they left the clearing, asking for his food innocently, as if she didn't just conjure twenty demons by using blood magic and kill about thirty guards and a former Knight-Commander. He straightened up his back in his chair and held it in, merely sliding his plate of nug steak toward her to avoid causing a scene- Well, anymore than a human and a horned devil covered in blood walking into an inn could cause. The sun of Andraste burned into her forehead probably didn't help either and probably screamed LOOK AT ME IMMA MAGE.Â
He sighed, thinking of just giving up his act and slamming his head against the table for being so stupid. Of course the cute little qunari handmaiden he had freed had to be a powerful blood mage. He cursed his luck as he tried to think of a way to ditch her before she got him into even more trouble.
However that was a very hard thing to do when there was a spirit of Divinity in his mind berating him for such thoughts. "You cannot just leave that poor thing," the voice in his head scolded. "Qunari mages are a special case. She most likely knows nothing of where she is or how to get home, she probably can't even take care of herself without her handler with her."Â
He shooed away the voice, thinking that she seemed like she was the type of person who could take care of herself. "S-so... You're free right?" He asked, grimacing a little as she slurped at the deep mushroom glaze that accumulated in a little pool at the bottom of her plate. Sweet Andraste, weren't these people supposed to be more reserved?
She must have noticed his distaste, for she quickly placed down the plate and wiped her face with a small curse of, "Vashedan!" before straightening up. "Yes... And I have ya to thank for that, Sataareth... I apologize if I have disgusted ya..." She stated, looking down at her hands. "I have not tasted anything for the past three years... I lost a bit of control..."
Oh Maker... How the holy hell was this incredibly adorable child such a powerful and dangerous blood mage? Even her odd little accent was cute! "N-no worries...," he muttered, brushing his hand through his hair. "You're not disgusting anyone..." He held back a scowl at Divinity's incessant cackling in his mind. "So I'm guessing that leaving you on your own is outta the question, huh?"
Her face instantly turned from embarrassment to annoyance. "Oi, it isn't as if I can't take care of myself! I just don't really... got anywhere to... go..." A bit of a realization seemed to dawn on her, her face scrunched up a little, as if she could burst into tears at any moment. "Maker no, don't cry! C'mon, don't cry you can stick with me for a while... We can head to the Tevinter Imper- wait no they hate your kind... Or we can go stay with the Dalish for a little wh- no wait most of them hate me since that time I banged that one tribe's Keeper..."
Her lips began to tremble, and it was then he noticed the faint scars lining them. He had heard of Qunari mages having their mouths sewn shut but the fact that the poor girl in front of him may have had it done to her just struck a chord with him. She seemed like a nice enough girl... eh why not let her tag along with him? If anything she could keep the Templars away by murdering every one they come across... Even Divinity agreed, though not necessarily with the whole murdering Templars kind of thing...
He chuckled and pulled his arm around her and pulled her into a side hug. "We'll just wing it! You can come with me and we'll just cross all of Thedas together until we can find you a home! What do you say?" Her eyes lit up a little at his offer, there was still a bit of sadness there, but it was still an improvement.Â
"Let's do it!" She stated with a smile that even reached her eyes. Damn Hagakure didn't realize that Qunari could even do that.
