LOL I HATE MCU FANDOM I ALWAYS HAVE AWLAYS WILL 

just in general but also when avengers came out and it really started blowing up and the superfamily shit started happening was so grating -- lets erase aunt may SURE. let’s make give thor no characterisation except pop tarts and caps. lets erase EVERY WOMAN in the past films bc STONY OR WHATEVER THE FUCK CLINT/COULSON WAS and let’s woobify loki and make darcy a self insert/fandom bike. I MEAN GOD IT WAS INSUFFERABLE. 

but just outside that the mcu is not as good as ppl make it. i love it but also the black widow movie debacle of a million years, black widow having no toy, the current waffling and pushing back captain marvel, and pushing up black panther sounds good on paper but putting it in feb is basically saying they don’t care about it. no movie studios care about are release in jan/feb (see: jupiter ascending). it makes ant-man and creates a whole movie about hope (THE BETTER HERO) training scott to be our main hero when it should have been her all along. the mcu IN GENERAL does okay and only JUST okay with it’s female characters. i love a lot of them, but their development seem to come second to their male counterparts or in direct relation to their male counterparts a lot of the time!

it keeps baiting with female directors -- thor 2, black panther -- and then drops them. mcu fandom/marvel wants the brownie points of representation and diversity but then doesn’t really DO anything with them. it does OKAY SOMETIMES: rhodey, sam, them being in the new avengers team line up, but then the only woc (IN THE MOVIES) is made a green alien. 

netflix and tv mcu does better with woc representation, but shield show is a messy as fuck show and now it’s place in the mcu is even messier since joss’ little tantrum. agent carter gets points for being the first female lead mcu show (shield show while skye/daisy is lead is an ensemble show) but doesn’t do well with poc representation, which i hope it’ll better, but just bc hayley says she’s talked about it to the staff doesn’t mean they DONE anything about it. yet. we’ll have to see. we’ll see how jessica jones does. and daredevil, while mostly pretty great, still killed ben and it’s asian representation was -- and it’s not my place to speak at length about this as i am not asian -- i’ve read #problematic tho i don’t remember the exact things that were brought up.
