commented this on youtube but wanted to see if anyone else noticed
this is just an unedited clip of the scene where jax almost abstracts but i wanna talk about how the audio makes the start of this scene more eerie. i put timestamps related to this specific video
0:26 The audio starts off soft, kind of airy. Eerie, but nothing's happening yet.
0:37 As the black triangle/hole? appears, the audio is now low bass. VERY low bass, barely audible. If you need to, turn ur volume to max and close your eyes and focus purely on the audio from when it switches from the low airy noise to the bass. (if you have sensitive ears it might give you a headache though be careful)
0:43 As it cuts back to jax (who is now visually panicking) (You can see him breathing heavily if you look closely), the bass becomes ever-so-slightly quieter and higher pitched. The shift from the airy audio to the bass immediately instills a sense of panic.
You're not meant to understand what's going on visually, but the change in audio- while not providing any actual information for us to use- instantly signals "something is very wrong" and the cut to jax's face and the higher pitched bass kind of confirms jax is thinking the exact same thing. it goes from "wtf is that (with confusion)" to "WTF IS THAT (with panic)"
